Thats a HUGE start to the challenge Starnac - where did you find that much money?!

Down the back of the sofa???? :D

DH's work has been training him up to be duty manager and last month he did a few DM shifts. Usually any extra in his pay gets wasted on "stuff" but he's finally behind me in the debt busting stakes (he's now got an incentive to work for ;) ) so he paid off the j/a o/d. :j

    I can count that can't I??

Ah Lara - at least you got the meeting out of the way and you can relax that at least everyone gets on? That did make me chuckle that your bra is padded enough to make your dress too small! Those 2lb could easily be hormonal, try not to stress!

Wow Starnac - you're running away with this challenge! Took me ages to work out how to update the ticker but you simply go to the post with them all on and click on it and put in your password and away you go! (or do what Cinny said...) [took me a looong time to type this!]

Noo Cinny don't spoil the end of HP! Grr Speaking of cinemas I'm really annoyed at a friend of mine. She's been seeing this bloke for 6 months or so and ever since she started seeing him, she's been arranging things with me and then either cancelling at the last minute because she's doing something with him instead or not getting back to confirm arrangements at all. Last night she text and said do I fancy Orange Wednesday at the cinema so I said yeah great - Harry Potter? And she says Oh I'm supposed to be seeing that with him at the weekend - I'll check with him and get back to you. Which I bet she won't. Why suggest the cinema if she's going with him - why not just say to meet for tea or a drink? I'm not annoyed that she has a boyfriend and wants to be with him, I totally understand that but just don't make arrangements with me and then cancel. It's annoying because I love her to bits when I do see her - but I wouldn't put up with being stood up from a man so why do I do it with friends? Rant over, sorry!

Hehe Cinny if your sis in law (:D) gets a horse she won't need the car loan! Exciting about going to Miami - I'd love to go and see all the art deco stuff.

Happy three months to Poppy! An old school friend on facebook's daughter is ten years old today - that made me feel pretty old!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions about the leaving present. I'm in such a bad mood today though and annoyed that I always get lumbered with the collections and thus having to decide what to actually buy while everyone else goes "oh I don't know..." , that I'll probably just put the (english) cash in his card and be done with it. Heck, I'd love that as a leaving present!

Tete - I had a friend like that she would always cancel on us to go out with her bf who turned out to be a complete idiot...anyway we all fell out with her for ages over it. Friends with her now but people need to realise they won't have any friends left if they keep letting them down.

I don't think anyone would complain about cash as a present!

There is a girl from my year at school who has divorced, married again and has 4 kids the oldest being 9 i think...oh dear.

My best friend (maid of honor in fact) was like that, as soon as there is a boy she drops you like a hot potato - this time I decided I didn't want to be treated like that, so I phased her out and we haven't spoken in months. Bit harsh but I only want real friends in my life.

I find it wierd enough some of my friends have children or are divorced, but it was all brought into focus when one of my classmates died, made me very aware that you never know when your time is up so make the most of it. This happened a few weeks before I met NIM - I was clearly in the right frame of mind to take a chance on long distance where usually I'd not be up for it.

I wish I'd got cash from work when I left instead of the crummy gift they bought! :o

I can't be bothered with cancellers either, got a friend who has stood me up too many times to count so I refuse to make plans with her now! Its actually quite a weight off...

Your poor brother Cinny, a horse? Really?! Does she understand how much hard work they are to keep? She can't just keep it in the garden and say, 'Oooh look at my pretty horse!' and leave it at that!

    Happy 3-Month-Day Poppy! :D
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

    I didn't! Or did I?! What! I'm confused :o

I don't like cancellers either. Although I am guilty of doing the same, but that was back when I was 14! There isn't much you can do though, which blows. At least she was up front about planning to see that with her Boyfriend, instead of just faffing and not giving a straight answer until she knows. There are plenty of other films though, I really want to see Bridesmaids. Might go see that with my Sister on Friday night actually!

Dinah - For the marriage, I honestly don't know. Just one day we woke up and thought 'we don't need to do that yet' Honestly, marriage only came up in our heads because it's socially the next step to take. We're not planning on splitting up so we've got forever to do it. We're happily plodding, like we've always done :D

And yes really, a horse! I think that idea will die when the bills start coming in. She really isn't very nice. And it's going to sound mean but sometimes I look at her and think 'You're not even making up for the b*tch quality by being pretty' :o I mean, I know I have my own b*tch moments but that's cancelled out by the fact I'm fundamentally a nice person and if my makeup sits properly I'm pretty cute too (even if I do say so myself :p)

ETA: I'd go for cash too over a gift, then he can do what he wants! When I left my old job I was given a multi store gift card (they thought it looked prettier than money!) I wasn't expecting a gift at all mind, but I preferred that over what they would have bought me if their Christmas present giving was anything to go by!
