Did I miss the news where it announced Britain now has a monsoon season? Went to the bank and the post office - the bank basically told me there was no issue and to go home, the post office had over 40 people in and I couldn't wait, but in the process of doing this the heavens opened and not only is my skirt soaked through, the lining is soaked through, my tights are soaked, my boots are so wet they slosh, and even my knickers are so wet I can wring them out  Complete waste of a lunchtime.

    Afternoon all

Looks like everyone has started off well! I am still not off the starting block either although have got a cheque from a survey site which i will count when i have paid in.

Think i will have some money left over next week when i get paid but i will need some spending money when we go to lake district begining of Aug so might have to use it for that rather than save it.

Oh dear Dinah about the rain! Thankfully not raining here as just had to pop out to get some bits from sainsburys.

Nice work on the curtains Dinah! Ebay does pay off sometimes. My one item with a bid on is my broken iPod, it is listed as faulty in the title and twice in the listing in bold letters but I'm still a bit worried the bidder will complain. I sold some empty perfume bottles once as I'd read that people collect them, most were fine apart from one lady who sent me quite a rude email saying she didn't realise it was empty and why on earth would I be selling such a thing, didn't I think it was wrong? Um, no, I think its wrong that you managed to bid on an item with *EMPTY* in the title and not realise it was empty! If people buy it, I'll sell it!

Birdie, I think Butlins pulled their free scratch a while ago. The sites I use are Sunbingo and Jackpotjoy (don't be put off by Babs Windsor hollering at you every time you log on!) It was a while ago but I think it was the same deal, you have to deposit £10 then have to win a little before you can withdraw it so you leave a balance. Sun has a free mystic meg 'spin the wheel' game and JPJ has a choice of a similar wheel game or a treasure map type thing. Obviously if you don't win for ages your £10 will be 'stuck' in there, also I did sign up a while ago so make sure you read the site in case anything has changed, I would feel awful if I told you the wrong thing and you lost money:( JPJ occasionally send out little bonuses too which count towards your cash balance.

I still have a little tinker on dooyoo but find it hard to get into, ok once I get going though. *Naughty non MSE confession alert* I have an iPhone and have started writing reviews on the Notes app so I can dip in whenever I have 5 minutes spare, then copy and paste onto the website from my phone when they're done. I also found writing under set headings helps, as the set format helps me get started. Not that I have actually finished any for weeks!

I won't get in trouble for posting that will I...?

I have never heard of Eggs for Soldiers, where are they from?

Unlucky on the bench Poddle, it must mean that a better, cheaper one is about to turn up :)

Nowt worse than soggy knickers Dinah! Hope you've dried out nicely!

What's the problem you're having with the bank?

Shrimpy, there's nothing wrong with your Dooyoo confession, I used to write mine over the day/s in Word then copy across once finished, and the idea of having a set format is a good one! I'd have told the ebay lady that she deserves to get empty bottles all the time if she can't be bothered to read descriptions properly! It's like the lady who bought used walking boots off Tete and complained about the little bit of mud on them... what do you expect?! I got a star knocked off one of my Amazon sales because the parcel got damaged in the post and the cardboard sleeve on a DVD got a little crinkled, the buyer never contacted me about it check that it was in good condition but aknowledged in the comments section that it looked like it had happened in the post (and wrote 'No worries') but marked me down on the 'Item as described' section! Grrr.

Ahem - not even mud! They'd been cleaned but there was a tiny bit of dirt ingrained into the grip in the soles. I didn't spend ages cleaning that bit out as they were used walking boots that the woman had only paid about £3.50 for, I thought it would be OK. She was just chancing her arm at a refund I think, she backed down when I stood my ground. You stand up for yourself about the perfume bottles - loads of people collect empty bottles so you're not being ridiculous at all. God I hate ebay! I have a couple of bags I might put on and maybe a skirt, just to boost my challenge efforts.

I tried to get back into Dooyoo again a few months ago as I had about £5 worth of points I wanted to get up to cashout level but I just don't really like reviewing the sorts of things that get the points now. And I can't be bothered reading other people's reviews! I think my points have all probably expired by now. Might copy a few over to Ciao though, if their rules haven't changed, I made a couple of fivers over there a while back, and that's actual cash.

Hope you've dried out now Dinah, I haven't been out today but it does look very black when I go near a window!

LOL, sorry Tete, I remembered there was only a little bit of something and the woman was being an idiot about it! :) I just can't be bothered with the hassle of ebay since it seems like everyone wants something for free, if something arrives and it's not right for me I don't go moaning for a refund, I think ah well, should have read the description better!

I never did use Ciao, must stick some reviews on there and see if I can get anything! What gets the 'big' points on Dooyoo now?

    Never a truer word said...

Hm, I'm planning on ebaying a few bits this month too, but I'd forgotten what a hassle it is! And should have got my bum in gear at the weekend for free listings, but hopefully they'll have another one soon.

re ridiculous July weather, I just overheard someone saying we're due for 30 days of rain. No fair, weather!

Oh my gosh, I had a lot to read! Was only away the weekend! Hello to all ex-lurkers! I would reply to all news and stuff but I have forgotten everything.. sorry :o I do hope you're ok though Flower :)

I had a good, but difficult, weekend in London. Cuz I went to London recently with ex-OH it was difficult remembering the fun we had. And thinking that I wouldn't be going back with him. :(

On a more positive note, I would love to join the challenge. Can I count money that I earn from babysitting and stuff?

I bought some shoes to go with a dress I've got for a wedding. I love them! 1918280209-1-carvela-gypsy-blue-courts-evening.jpg

Tete, I'll reply to you properly on facebook later. I'm avoiding it at the moment cuz I haven't had chance to watch the Apprentice final and I'm scared I'll find out if I go on facebook!

Hope everyone is enjoying the fabulous weather.. :D

    Love the shoes Zig!

Been doing some surveys this afternoon while Poppy took an unusual nap. Baby group obviously wears her out haha.

I haven't been on dooyoo or ciao in ages. Not sure i have the patience for it now though.
