i'm tackling the spare room all this week birdie. I may go in and never come out again though. I'm hoping if I do come out that I'll have a big box of treasures for ebay so I can start my £1000 challenge hereGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Cinny how could you stay up so late just to watch that drivel! I've never 'got' wrestling I have to say!
I haven't read the article about the Happy Eggs because I'll have nightmares, but I'm another one who bought them in good faithI used to buy barn eggs for a long time, thinking it meant something like this, but it's nothing like that is it?
I can still walk today! :T AND I've brought my own dinner in so that's £2.50/£3 saved depending on whether I cave and go for chocolate this afternoon!
Poddle I felt the same with that book - racing through it because I was enjoying it so much but not wanting it to end! I love Maggie!
Well even though you didn't cross a lot off your list Dinah, you got a few tidying things done so hopefully you feel a lot better for doing that, and more motivated now to get on with other things!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
aw Tete that's a lovely picture. Unfortunately that's not what barn eggs mean. Although it would be lovelyGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Hope you find lots of treasure Starnac! Does anyone else wonder where all of the 'stuff' comes from?! Over the last 2 months I must have cleared out 7 bin bags of junk, I don't actually remember bringing that much into the flat so how did it get there?! There's still loads of stuff left so it's not like I've just gutted the place either! We must have a messy ghost who sneaks junk in!
Actually, speaking of ghosts, we got really freaked out yesterday and convinced ourselves that we'd been 'visited'! We keep our phones on the window sill in our living room because they don't get a signal otherwise. We heard a knock on the window then OH's phone leapt off the sill and ended up under the armchair where I was sitting, about 8 feet away! No idea how or why it happened, OH tried to recreate it but just couldn't make it 'jump' that far! Was very odd indeed... _pale_

The more I sort the worse it becomes I'm sure. Before we moved here we lived in one room in my parents house (one room for three of us) with our big furniture in storage. Now we live in a 4 bed house that's packed with stuff. We only had a 3 bed before moving into my mums so where did all the extra stuff come from???
We even had a massive sort out before putting our stuff in storage cos when you are actually paying to sort your crap you become less attached to it :mad:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Morning all,
I told OH about Happy Eggs and he is disgusted as well  You think you are doing the right thing, but I am glad you told me Cinny!
It must have been a decluttering weekend all around. Myself and OH cleaned the flat from top to bottom yesterday and I sorted out some out of season baby clothes (that wouldn't be the right season for the new baby if it is a boy) that I can sell on baby & bump. We are going to sort out our MoneyMagpie cds today and I have euros to change into sterling but none of it will be for the challenge until my Virgin credit card is paid off!
I just cancelled OH's contact lenses contract as well. So that will be £35 a month saved as OH will buy them himself (they were coming from the joint account). He has found them way cheaper online and he has lovely glasses so if he is a bit broke one month he can delay them for a while! We won't start seeing the benefit of that until next month though.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Seems this challenge is really spurring people on to find extra little bits of money from everywhere! How come you're not counting the Virgin CC as part of the challenge CMD?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Ermm, mainly because I don't think it's drivelMe and OH are actually thinking of putting money to one side so we can go too Wrestlemania next year in Miami.
I didn't get back to sleep though, pushing through until 10pm so my sleeping pattern has a better chance of stepping back into place. I feel completely fine. Although my heart was beating so quickly this morning that when OH's toast popped up I nearly had a heart attack :rotfl: So maybe not as fine as I feel.
That's really weird about the phone Birdie, and even more odd that you couldn't debunk it! I wouldn't like that at all. _pale_ indeed!
Sorry if that video upset anyone who watched it (lurkers too!) but it's better to know than not. I'm surprised they're still going. It's beyond horrible.
That's great going on the contact saving though, CMD. Like Tete said, the new challenge seems to be really getting us all back into the swing of money saving!0 -
I think it is Tete, I haven't actually saved anything yet but it's payday on Wednesday so any money that's left in my bank tomorrow night (there won't be much!) will get moved as I'll be counting that as a saving (since I have refrained from buying so many nice things I've spotted in the sales!). I was also doing surveys last night so I might have made about 50p!
Does anyone know if there are still 'free' click-throughs on Quidco? And free scratchcards on Bingo sites, does anyone still do them?
ETA: I know it's not Wrestlemania but TNA Impact films at Universal Studios every month (and it's free to go!) so we're hoping that we can catch it when we're there, OH is very excited at the prospect! You should definitely get yourselves to Miami next year, WM would be great fun and Miami would be fab!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Actually good question Tete. I don't know why!!!
I think I have it in my head that I want to pay off OH's credit card asap and the challenge will spur me on. If I pay £1000 and he gets relocation then we will only have about another £600 to pay off it and then will be down to 3 credit cards. Far more manageable!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
