Went to see Harry Potter last night, it was great. Totally feels like the end of an era though. How funny did they all look at the end? Everyone was tee-heeing in the cinema.
Yeah they did look pretty funny, especially Ron with his padded belly! You know that they had to refilm that part because their aging make-up looked terrible on the big screen?!
Glad the meeting of the tribes went well, although it's not good that your parents still aren't excited about it, I'm getting cross about that, it's their daughter's wedding day! My parents managed to get excited about it even though they had to fly 4000 miles and spent 2 weeks with my in-laws- maybe you could remind them that things could be worse!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Cinny you should go to Miami.
We're looking at about £4,000. That's with an better than good hotel, tickets for the events and a decent chunk of spending money. I'm off to the library at dinner to get some travel booksI told my Brother we're [STRIKE]thinking of[/STRIKE] going, and he said he wants to come too. But his girlfriend glared at him so that's that idea shot down. As much as I'd love for him to come, he'd 'have' to bring her too and that would ruin it completely :A
Rolled into bed at just gone 11pm last night, total of 39 hours up and awake. Felt totally fine last night, and fine this morning. Not too sleepy. I'm a machine!
Well done on the payment Starnac  Just reading your sig, I really hope you manage to get the debt paid by December!!
I still can't believe how you're parents are being LaraSeems so strange! Is it just that they aren't the type for weddings?

Hey Cinny, it could be a honeymoon
Missed your post Starnac, very well done on the payment! How can something so pretty cause pain?!
I know! I have a feeling these are going to hurt.. But I'm going to take some flat shoes for the evening, when everyone is too drunk to notice I'm a couple of inches shorter and wearing boring shoes.

I heard it on the evening news in the end, gutted. I'd managed to go all day as well! I'm glad it was him though, I wanted him to win from the start cuz he was different.
Those shoes are unbeliveable I'd never be able to walk in them!
I'm going to practice cuz I can't walk in them brilliantly. I so envy those women you see stomping round all day long in their spindly high heels.
Hope you managed to enjoy London a little bit - try and think of the positives like "Well at least I can spend two hours looking at the pincushions in Liberty without him getting a face on"! - I went to London the weekend before Xmas and it was all snow and people having mulled wine together, I wished I'd stayed at home.
I did enjoy it overall. Was lovely seeing family. And you're right, there's always a silver lining - I was able to spend ages browsing all the food stalls at Borough Market and it did cross my mind that ex-OH would be moaning to leave by now.
But apparently he's not going there now, just Singapore. Malaysia and Thailand. And of course it's muggins who's been left in charge. Someone suggested just vouchers for clothes for his trip but I wondered if anyone could think of anything better?
Agree about the microfibre towel - they are absolutely brilliant. I've got one and it comes with me everytime I go on holiday, specially Asia. Currency is good too. Is he the type to do like a travel journal? My Nan bought me a travel journal the first time I went to Asia and I was so glad as it's a really good keepsake (if you fill it in!)
Lara that does sound stressful, but at least it's over! I agree with Birdie, I wish your parents would be happy for you. Or at least pretend! Sucks you've got to panic-diet, but 2lbs isn't loads. Could do all the usual cutting out bread tactics the week before to help?

You should definitely go! I think Birdie's idea is good tooThat'd be a nightmare if she went. Do you think your brother could persuade her or is she pretty stubborn?
I've started on my challenge. We finally paid off the j/a O/D so that's £369.42/£1000 paid for this challenge. How do I change my ticker??
You're doing well on the challenge! I haven't even saved anything yet! I think you click on your ticker, and then it takes you to a page where you can update it. I could be wrong thoughTotal Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Morning all,
Lara - glad the meeting of the parents went ok! Shame your Mum and Dad aren't more enthusiatic but don't let that dampen anything. Hope all the organisation is going ok.
Cinny - Miami sounds like a fab idea for a holiday, very exciting.
Poppy is 3 months old today, seems to have gone so quick!0 -
Hey Cinny, it could be a honeymoon
Sweet lord no :rotfl: While I love him to bits, my views on pretty much everything have changed recently. I think if it wasn't for us wanting a family somewhere down the line we wouldn't get married at all.
To change the ticker you just need to go back on the website, I go on the PM I sent Dinah and copy and paste the website url. Then just enter the PIN you put in when you made the ticker and you're in!zigmeister wrote: »Do you think your brother could persuade her or is she pretty stubborn?
Stubborn is an understatement! Her excuse was "We're getting a horse" B*tch, please! My Brother is allergic and you struggle to pay your car loan as it is. I feel sick whenever I think of them living together, I know my Brother will end up paying for everything and I know it still won't be enough for her. My friend seriously thinks she's only with my Brother because he's got money.
I can't believe it's 3 months Wendz! On one hand it feels like you've been a mummy for so long, but on the other it doesn't seem like yesterday you were posting about your bump. Happy 3-months Poppy!0 -
Thanks for the replies re ticker. I done it eventually. Just click on your ticker on the 1st page and it takes you to the website. Put your PIN in, change your details and save and it automatically changes on the 1st page too. Tickers for dummy's I like it.
My in laws weren't excited by our wedding either. It really annoyed me but in the end DH and I had a fab day (apart from one major hiccough from my grandad - that's another story) so that's all that matters.

You can count the babysitting and anything else you want Zig if you'd usually spend it but you put it into savings instead. Can you pm me a ticker please? Fab shoes btw!
Poddle I wouldn't worry about the free listing weekends, I find things sell for more if listed in non-free times as the market isn't so swamped.
I'm finally off the blocks on the challenge! Only by about £3 but hey, it's a start!
You can request early disbursement on Amazon if you want to Shrimpy, they don't charge any extra. We sold 2 books yesterday on there, only about £3 each but it all helps so need to wrap those tonight.
Thats a HUGE start to the challenge Starnac - where did you find that much money?!

A horse?? Your poor bro, that doesn't sound like a very good 'joint' purchase given that he's allergic! She doesn't sound very nice...:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0
