  • Argh that sounds a good deal unlimited everything for that! But then I don't need unlimited so it would be a waste for me...

Just bumping in to say Tete, I have an HTC Wildfire S. I really really wanted an Iphone but have not regretted going for the wildfire. It's small, handy, does everything as the Iphone. I'm on Orange, pay £15 a month for 300 min, 300 text, unlimited landline and internet. Plus get 6 magic numbers which I can call for free (has to be orange nr). I had to pay £15 towards the phone but it was still worth it. No regret for not going for Iphone.

    Hey Tete

The big improvements that have happened previously on the iphone have been in speed of connectivity and quality of camera. I am not sure what the difference will be between 4 and 5, but to be honest I wouldn't be that bothered either.

However internet land people are right in saying that it's likely the iPhone 4 will remain around as a cheaper model - precisely because Apple are feeling the heat from HTC who have a much cheaper price point. This and other articles speculate that the new iphone will be thinner and lighter, but with a bigger screen. It's also supposed to release in September - so you could wait til next month and see the lay of the land??

    Hey tete,
My opinions.. I have an iphone 4 which I got about 4 months ago on orange. I think I get 400 mins and unlimited texts and enough internet.. I had a blackberry before which I loved but I love the iphone even more! I think if you know how to work and ipod then you'll be fine with an iphone. I seriously wouldnt give mine up yet!
If the 5 is coming out in september though as that is this month! It might be worth waiting!?

TOP TIP ALERT!! (heehee) it might count because you work for a uni but check or if you have a friend who works for the council/school/nhs/arcadia group/military then you can (or you could - check) get 25% off contracts (each person who fits the bill can get 5 friends the discount per year and the discount lasts for the life of your contract)! Brucey bargain or what!!? So I pay £24.xx for a £35 month contract! All they have to do is take a payslip to the shop!

I have a 24 month contract because it made the phone a bit cheaper (was £70 but I traded my bberry for £65 so I didn't mind)!

    Hope this helps!

WHAT? Which network is that with? (NHS employee here and in desperate need of getting her phone contract down!)

Birdie - OH lives and works in Surrey (for the police but not a police officer) and I live and work in Essex, where we're both from. We only get to see each other every 2 weeks really at the moment :( but we're working on it! Planning on getting married in Prague because we love the place so much (it's where he proposed too :D)

Tete - I wouldn't get an HTC. OH has just got the wildfire and he's not too keen. It has it's good points like you can have favourite people on your home screen (you tap the button with there name on and it automatically calls them or sets up a message screen where you can text them) but that's about it apparently. He can't make sense of the layout and the buttons are a bit temperamental. I have a blackberry but it's not built for surfing the internet really. I'd say Iphone is better but I wouldn't get one out of principle.

Hope you're all having a great weekend. Just redeemed my second mail reward for the body shop as I need to repurchase my foot scrub from them. My first one was a boots voucher which is still sitting in my purse despite visiting boots twice this week!

  • I feel like I've been missing in action for ages, lots to catch up on - So many babies on the way!

Tete - I have a htc on orange to get the 25% contract discount so its only £15 a month and the phone was free - never had a problem with using it or aps but iphone do have more (off the top of my head - the natwest online banking ap is iphone only). However I miss o2 with their english call centres and when I was abrpoad my htc never connected, no idea if it was the phones problem or orange but it was a total pain. I'd say go with the iphone deal!

Ooh ruby - wedding links please!

Rubbish about the course Birdie, will you have to redo it?

I'm mildly hungover and surrounded by chaos and mess, should really do something about it. Also feel like I've spent almost all my months spending money in the one week since payday, seeing ex uni friends is so expensive and its my boyfriends birthday coming up. Boring rest of the month for me I think! Did have a lovely trip to Bristol for the bank holiday though so it was money well spent - I want to move there! It's so nice. Who'd have known the south could be so pleasant... :D

Ooh ruby - wedding links please!

Well since you asked so nicely....this is where we want the reception/wedding breakfast and have been quoted [STRIKE]very good[/STRIKE] amazing prices from 2 wedding agencies that are well within our budget.

As for colours - navy with mustard yellow accents (yes I'm strange like that). A 50's/Audrey Hepburn style tea length wedding dress with navy shoes and DF wants a 3 piece tailored suit. Classic and elegant is the theme we're going for, but on a budget! I would love to just elope there with DF but I also really want my dad to give me away since I'm an only child and my dad is the most important person to me (apart from DF of course!).

Need to pull back on the wedding planning front I think. We aren't really in a position to plan much yet but I just want to get it done.

Ohh i like the venue looks very swish! I like the sound of the wedding dress, although am not as daring as that! I love the tea length one.

That is rubbish you only get to see your OH every two weeks Ruby but bet you have more quality time when you do.

Archers - hope the hangover doesn't stick around too long. Catching up with old uni friends is always fun.

Hope everyones having a good weekend. OH isn't working tonight but is working tomorrow in day now, so he only really gets Monday off as hes been asleep all today.

On the iPhone debate Tete- that does sound like a good deal! Are you with O2 at the moment? We use them for work and their customer service is pretty rubbish but that might just be the business side? Downsides of the phone for me are that I can't figure out how to upload photos straight to my laptop from it, not sure if there is a way and I'm being dense? You can upload direct to Flickr though so I get round it that way. Also the fear of breakage, and the fact that every time you're out in public and get a text or call everyone in a ten metre radius checks their phone as everyone has the same ringtones! like you, mine was only a little more than my previous contract though and was definitely worth the extra, there are apps for everything! And most of the practical ones as opposed to games are free. We haven't got our Internet running in the new house yet so I'm using my phone for everything at the moment, I'd be scuppered without it! So apologies for any typos. Might be worth seeing if the 5 brings the prices down further but that deal is cheap.

    Sorry for rambling!

It's orange and I dontthink it can be back applied bit worth bearing on mind and maybe asking.. Also other networks probably do something similar..!

The venue and theme ideas sound lovely too!!

Cinny- I challenged my inner-you and went to the gym today for a trial and didn't kill myself but tried hard!! Can you link me again (sorry!) to that food thing? I want to get the app too!!
