Where does your OH work Ruby? That sucks about having to work over Christmas. Where are you getting married?
It's our year to spend Christmas day with OH's family... I don't like odd years! It's always such a pain trying to fit everyone in on the one day but I feel really bad if we don't see my parents at all on Christmas day. Once we have babies we're staying put and family can come to us!
Of course none of us think you're being stupid Flower! We know how much you've struggled and you're doing so well, sometimes you just need some time off to recharge. I know that I'll be a blubbering wreck the entire time I'm pregnant, I can't even deal with a few TOTM hormones so anything more is going to make me a mess! Hope that you're enjoying your relaxing day!
How annoying about the energy company Wendz, what are you going to do about it?
My day has just gotten loads better (not!). Got my results from the test I took on my awful course and I failed by 1 point! Gutted and embarrassed. I'm not used to failing stuff. I'm not exactly Mrs 100% but I don't fail!Even more annoying is that it is split into 6 sections, in 5 of them my scores were between 67% and 100%, but I only got 17% on the bad section, which is the stuff I was worried about at the time because the trainer rushed through it IMO and I knew I didn't have it pegged! Now I don't feel so guilty about writing negative comments about him on the feedback form!

Aww Birdie, that is annoying. Hopefully the whole class will have got poor marks on the section he rushed through - so it will be clear enough to all concerned the problems with the course. You've got no need to be embarrassed. And if you usually pass then no harm done this once, eh?
Oooh Ruby, where are you getting married? Would love to see the hotel
Wendz, eek to your bill situation - is that even legal??:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Hi girlies, just rushing in to ask opinions and haven't had time to read - hope everyone's OK!
I was at my knitting group last night and lamenting my lack of smartphone when I saw one of the girls had her knitting pattern on hers, and she said she got the iPhone 3GS on O2 on an 18 month contract for £27 a month, free handset. I looked it up and it's true, and there's £50 cb on Quidco. So I'm seriously thinking about going for it - it's only £4 a month more than my current contract (rolling 30-day so cancellable) since they put the VAT up and I'd get so much more out of it.
But the boy in the office is trying to convince me to go for a HTC something or other instead - he insists it's better. But I want the iPhone reallySo hands up who has one and which model and what do you think of it? A lot of people in internet land are saying wait for the 5 to come out and the 4 will drop in price but I can't imagine it being as cheap as that? And would I really notice the difference between the two handsets? Thanks for any opionions you have

I dont have an iphone but OH does and loves it! He has the 3gs I think and would be lost without it. He has had a play around with his workmates HTC and says it is rubbish - obviously that is just his opinion, but he is really happy with his 3gs.
As for waiting for the next one to come out my OH was going to do the same but a friend of mine who has the 4 said it really isnt that much different - so I would say if you want it go for it now.
Sounds like a good price, how many minutes/texts is that for?
Iphones are wasted on me I know I wouldnt use half the stuff on it so I just have a basic phone, but OH really loves his.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

Now I definitely won't use them! We fixed with N Power not long before deciding to move so am really hoping they will let us move the deal over. Hope your last OP survey(s) pop up soon!
The letting agents get a cut i think which is why they push you into it. Our letting agent were actually quite good as we had loads of trouble leaving spark and they rang up a 'special number' for letting agents and managed to sort it for us. I e-mailed them and they came up with some exscuses so will get OH to look at it when he is awake and give them a ring monday.
Birdie - that is so annoying to fail by one point but sounds like it was bad teaching.
Tete - that sounds like a good deal. Don't have iphone myself but hopefully getting oh's when he gets new one and i have had a play on it and really like it.
We will be spending Christmas dinner with my family again, OH says he can't be dealing with the politics of his family so is easier to just go to mine. We will go see his family later in the day. Plus there are a lot of them so more room at my house!0 -
Haven't got an iPhone but my Mum an Dad have HTC Desires and they're not my cup of tea at all and I wouldn't recommend it. The iPhone deal sounds pretty good and I doubt you'll be missing too much by not waiting for the new model, having not had a previous model and not being all geeky about it you won't even know what you're missing! I love my Nokia smartphone (at least, I did before the camera broke and I downloaded an update that totally uglied up all of the icons on my screen!) but I kind of wish I'd got the iPhone for the apps, there's hardly anything available for Nokias!
Also, how smart is it to walk around with a knitting pattern on your phone?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

I kind of want to put a complaint in but don't know if it just will get dismissed as being petty and bitter for not being smart enough?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Thanks Flower, it's 100 minutes and 500 texts which is more than enough for me - it's the apps I want
This is the thing - this lad has a HTC so I think it's some sort of brand loyalty talking. He used to bang on about how xxx was much better than an iPod ... but lo and behold what MP3 does he have these days?
Edit, Birdie are you able to resit just that section? It's worse in a way failing by so little!
That's one of the reasons I want the Apple - all the apps you see advertised always say "available now on iphone, coming soon for everything else!"Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

But it obviously isnt because your not smart enough or you wouldnt of passed all the other parts! Definitely sounds like bad teaching to me.
I would put in a complaint, but then OH does say that I like to complain :rotfl:Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Phew, just popping on quickly between Shredding and Zumba so I don't fall to the fall in a muggy heap. I'll reply properly to everything later but I thought I'd add my 2 pence! I'd say iPhone too, I faffed around on the HTC and didn't like it at all in comparison. There's a lot more you can do the the iPhone, like you said there really is an app for everything! I have to charge mine up almost every night as I'm constantly on it or leaving apps open without meaning to
That's a really good deal for it though, we got ours when they were still 'new'ish. A 24 month contract with 3 for unlimited everything at £35 a month. Go for it!!
It'll be handy when you're out walking too, and you can download apps for when you're running too. *nods*
