Firstly, congratulations Cinny on your victory

Ahh hope it's tomorrow when everything has cleared!! CMD I am good, OH has booked an apartment in Florence for 10 days. Hoping to book our flights today. We wanted to go to the coast for a few days, and booked a hotel there... but the tripadvisor reviews said it was a trick. The pictures were fake, you paid your money up front and then got taken to a really grotty place. So we cancelled! I am excited about it, but it's not really different to our usual holidays, so perhaps a bit disappointed about that. I feel a bit naughty and ungrateful for thinking that though
I went to Siena for a wedding too CMD, it's so lovely. Hoping to do a day trip there from Florence. Found a 'wine train' this time which leaves from Siena and takes you to a vineyard. Am determined to get wine tasting shoehorned into our trip somewhere!!
I've got a killer deadline before honeymoon, got to write the first chapter of my PhD - due a day before we go on honeymoon. The holiday is kind of bad timing for me, but OH so wanted to go to Italy. It's weird not having a big looming, life-changing thing like fieldwork or wedding. I guess I feel a bit down about it. I am finding it so hard to get motivated to do work (harder than normal, I'm such a procrastinator) Not looking forward to the next 3 weeks.

Hey everyone. We don't actually fly till the morning, so not impacted by Irene hopefully. A lot of flights have been cancelled and are being bumped onto ours, going to try to get down there early so we can still get seats together.
Finally hve our itinerary sorted, its all hand written so I can't post it. Popping out for dinner shortly, then coming back to book a few restaurant week meals.
