Morning all!
Hope everyone is well today. It's Friday
Just wondering how your New York plans are affected by Hurricane Irene Dinah and NIM? Saw it on the news there.
Sounds like you had a busy few days Zig. Babies are defo at their busiest at that age. Hope your brother is okay and feeling better.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Aww Zig, that sounds harsh
Hope he's okay.
My iPhone is still not working, apparently it's taking ages to port my number. I'm too excited! I got a data bolt on with my o2 monthly contract so allegedly I'm going to be paying £16.50 but not sure if that's remotely realistic or not. Well I never seem to leave the house these days anyway so can use wifi.
Tete, it's so nice to have you back. It sounds like a lovely trip and glad you're feeling more in control. The world is your oyster!! Did they like the cushion cover? We have booked an apartment for 10 days in Florence, and then we were going to stay 4 days in Cinque Terre on the coast. OH booked a hotel, but then when we read the tripadvisor reviews they all said it's a 'bait and switch'?? I had never heard that term before - basically they show you one nice apartment and the others are bad, so when you arrive you just get pot luck. He told one guy he didn't have a room for him at all! But then the other reviews are like 4.5, 5 stars which makes me suspicious as well. Another thing that made me suspicious is that you have to pay in cash as soon as you arrive, before you see the apartment. So I think OH is going to cancel and we are just going to go to Florence for 10 days. The good news is the apartment is very nice and EUR 900 for 10 days which I think is quite a big bargain. So we will use the leftover budget to go on a short break in December / January, which will be nice.
Rocking horse making classes sound awesome Dinah! Hope the last minute packing is going good.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -

Ewwwww... I don't do sick, this is the one thing worrying me about having babies! _pale_ Hope he's feeling better now!
I'm glad it's Friday, been a long week! And we've got Monday off, hurrah! :j
Any nice plans for the weekend? OH is in the Raft Race with a float from his work (and it looks nothing like the one in that article!) so we'll be down at the canal all morning, me cheering and him getting wet! We've got the Rugby Club cocktail party on Sunday, which I'm not really looking forward to as my band of WAGs have deserted me for various reasons, normally there are 4 of us there but this year it's only me and the boys!Looking forward to a night restful day on Sunday!

Morning
Ugh Zig that sounds horrendous - give me my cats and their hairballs any day!
Great news about Florence Lara, have you been before? I loved it last year when we went, the place has such a nice vibe it's lovely to just wander about. You'll be able to do some nice day trips from there as well - you can see all Pisa has to offer in a day, and places like Siena and Lucca are supposed to be lovely. The Duomo absolutely took my breath away when I first saw it, ahh I'm jealous!
Yes the cushion went down wellI was up til 2.30am the night before my flight finishing it off, I had about three hours sleep before having to get up and go to the airport
Birdie is that the thing you did as pirates last year? Or the year before?? Sometimes I forget how long we've all been chatting!
Right it's payday so off to balance my books...Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
No it's something else Tete, the pirates thing was for a parade (we didn't enter a float this year), this is a raft race on the canal. We do a lot of 'stuff' in this town! OH's team raft is made up of a bath, 2 big blue barrels and a pallet all shrink-wrapped together, very professional!
They've been testing it today it floats which is good news! Tomorrow I'll be carrying a bag with a towel and a change of clothes just in case!
Good news that the cushion got finished just in time! Have you got any more projects on the go now?Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Your poor baby brother Zig, hope he is feeling a bit better now!
Lara - Florence sounds lovely, I am sure you will have a brilliant time.
Raft race sounds fun Birdie, hope your OH's team do well. Enjoy the cocktail party too.
Yay for payday Tete, mine isn't till Tuesday..not that it will be much to write home about hehe.
Won't be up to much this weekend as OH is working. Need to do some cleaning/tidying though as haven't done much this week. I am going down to southampton to stay with my mum and dad for a couple of days next week as OH is on nights all week.0 -
Ahh I see, didn't click the link
At least you're on dry land, I don't like the sound of that raft at all at all!
Yep I've got two babies due in Oct and Nov so am making blankets for them, but also have a few dresses in mind if I get chance to dust off the sewing machine. If I could only win the Euromillions I'd be able to faff about with stuff like that all day every day
Speaking of money I've done the payday shuffle and have added another £84.15 to my challenge total (made up of £20 Quidco payment, £14 mileage from work, £44.66 from ebay and the £15.49 which I had left in my bank before my pay went in) - brings my total to £128.15.
Also got my amazon voucher through so can cancel lovefilm, just need to decide what to buy now!!
EDIT - Also now that my £2 coins are a baggable amount I'll take them down the bank today too so that makes £168.15
And also, I managed to bring E60 home from France, but I'm going to change it and put ti towards some new running shoes. (Any advice on how to get the Euro sign? It's there on my keyboard next to the cursor arrows but nothing happens when I press it)
Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I think on my keyboard I have to do Alt+Ctrl+E... let's see... !...huh, doesn't work on here, but it works in Word!
If you win the Euromillions and have time to faff will you make me nice things since you'll have so much time and you'll need projects to keep you busy!
Thansk for the reminder about LoveFilm, I need to cancel it! Got my voucher last week and it's been eamarked for OH's birthday present as he wants the Star Wars boxset on Blu-Ray, geek! It's bleeding expensive too so I'm glad I'm getting £20 off!
Wendz you were doing so well Fly Ladying, what happened?! A few days with your Mum sounds lovely! Ah the life of a maternity-leaver!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Argh, spent the last hour calculating and recalculating my figures because they didn't add up somehow, anyway, I think I've got it right now - I'm actually at £178.15 on the challenge
even better.
I'm trying to decide whether to use the voucher for me or for presents - last thing I need is more books really!
Wendz you're such a lady of leisure - OH is working nights so you swan off to the coast! Alright for someWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Hola amigas! What awful weather to return from holiday to. Had perfect sunshine, no sunburn (and 3 of us are redheads!) lovely food, lot of splashing about and muchos sangria and one euro bottles of local cava, was very nice!
However also had bad bike luck, my parents keep 2 bikes there but they'd gone flat. Hired 3 other bikes with various wobbly seats etc and tried to get the punctured 2 fixed, however one was so awful it would never have made it to the bike shop - so another hire bike was needed. Eventually we all had a bike, got the broken one sorted - which tested the absolute limit of my Spanish and mad gestures, eventually the bloke gets it and shouts 'pumpa pumpa!' until the tire is all blown up. So we are now all sorted, go out that evening to a local fiesta, bikes locked up, check them just before we leave, nip in to the toilet, come out and 2 had been stolen. Argh! Scumbags, totally ruins your feelings towards a nice place knowing that people would do that. All got sorted out eventually though.
Glad you had a lovely time too Tete, totally get about getting holiday envy now your own is over.
Ooh birdie glad the amazon voucher arrived, I've got my 3rd of 4 dvds now - does it come after the 4th one?
Hope the jabbed babies are feeling better now CMD and wendz
Florence will be lovely Lara, and just think of the amazing food!
Love the new living room Cinny, I want to see this fridge!
I'm heading to Bristol for bank holiday so I will wish you a wonderful time in NYC Dinah and Nim, bet it's going to be incredible. Take some good photos for us!
If I've forgotten anyone then blame my 2 and a half hours sleep before our ungodly flight this morning!
