Awww surely you don't need to be put down CMD! It must be very wearing on your body to have to run around after a little one whilst heavily pregnant, hope you have a nice rest and feel better!
I did enjoy Kevin & Perry, always watched Harry Enfield and loved the Kevin sketches, but the film is very dated now! Was quite funny to see all of the dodgy clothes we thought were cool!
Yay for the new/old iPhone Lara! I had to use the map funtion on my phone on Tuesday (after forgetting about it on Monday morning then realising that I had to be connected to a WLAN to download updates so couldn't use it anyway!) and it was a Godsend! As much as I love my Nokia, I wish it was as mainstream as the iPhone or HTC etc for the apps, the Nokia ones just aren't as good! I do have Angry Birds though!
Poddle that restaurant sounds amazing! I want to go! Although after the food poisoning scene in Bridesmaids I'm a little wary of Brazilian restaurants!
If I don't pass the course I don't think it'll be that big a deal, I've got the certificate to prove I attended and learnt the stuff which is the important thing; but work might want me to actually pass properly and it's about £100 to take the test again, hope they'll pay for it if needs be! Got another one coming up at some point and I really don't want to go!
Think I've well and truly failed the challenge, will start again in ernest after honeymoon, but right now there's no hope!
ETA: I forgot to say, OH was on (local) BBC radio yesterday! They were talking about the Raft Race that our city has every year and OH's captaining one of the rafts that our company has entered so he ended up talking about it on the radio! Very exciting! He sounded realllly Yorkshire though, I swear he's not that bad IRL!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Poor Max CMD! Poppy has got a cold so we haven't had much sleep last couple of nights. She has jabs too today, she is going to be grumpy later.
Birdie - hope you pass the exam.
Lara - yay for the i phone , i am going to get OHs when he gets a new one.
Poddle - sounds like you aredoing good with challenge., £250 is great!
I love the kevin and perry film too.
London was good yesterday. We had lunch at john lewis oxford street and then got the clipper boat from enbankment to greenwich. Had a look round the little market and sat outside to have a drink and then sisters oh met us for dinner. Then me and mum and poppy got boat, tube and train back.0 -
Bonjour les filles (and NIM and Poolie), god talk about a week being a long time in politics - it's a BLOODY long time on here! Have skimmed the last 12 or so pages but you all sound in good form aside from slight navigational issues for Birdie and locomotive issues for CMD!
CMD I haven't read the MMD thread and don't think I want to. I don't understand what exactly people think your kids will be missing out on! Wendz made me laugh when she mentioned her mum cutting the feet off babygros, my jim jams were always turned into shortie ones when they got too small (luckily I only ever grew upwards and not outwards) and I had hand me down clothes from cousins which had been passed on about three times before they got to me (that said looking back at old class photos everyone looked a bit mismatched like that, I don't think it's the case anymore...) Anyway, what I mean to say is your little family sounds lovely and that's the most important thing, little Max always looks such a happy chap. It's dangerous venturing outside our little UI bubble.
Cinny your house looks lovelyPromise you'll go to Rhodes old town when you're there, it's an old fortress/walled town bit - sooo lovely!
Poddle sorry to hear about the job but surely the internship will open a few doors? Maybe it was me you were thinking of who'd been to Cuba? We did a 3 days in Havana + 10 days AI in Varadero type package - I hated the AI (well that's a bit strong but I wouldn't do it again). A friend of mine did a sort of touring holiday of the place and stayed with Cuban families in their homes along the way - very cheap and very interesting too - I think there's more info on this on Tripadvisor. Would have loved to do something like that but ex is a twit and wouldn't.
Lara the honeymoon sounds lovely, I've never been to the north of Spain but it's on my list! Jealous of you Archers, have a lovely time!
Dinah and NIM can't believe you're heading off again so soon, your heads must be spinning! I'd say the Humingbird cakes won't be any better than your own, I was disappointed with the whole experience when I went, although it was a Wednesday morning in March - they might have more available on a weekend? I love love love the NHM, the building itself is stunning, but as it's NIM's first time I'd say all the touristy things are good - Buck Pal, Trafalgar Sq, Covent Garden etc etc. And the timeline at Greenwich as you're so close?
France was lovely and relaxing and so hot! Am feeling pretty fat after all the pain, fromage and vin though so might be joining you on that fitness site Cinny. Feeling a little more relaxed mentally too, family I stayed with are so inspiring in their various ways, I feel a little less "What am I going to do?" and a bit more "What am I going to do?" if that makes sense?!
PS - money is a mess! I brought E60 home but had to put a couple of things on card while I was there (stoopid metro machines not taking notes, and the hotel reservation not taking the money out at the time of booking and me thinking it had and having to stump up E104 when I got there! Gah! Payday tomorrow, will sort myself out)Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Yay, you're back Tete! I miss your wit and wisdom when you're gone!
France sounds lovely, just what you needed by the sounds of it! The difference in your mindest makes complete sense to me, sounds like changes are afoot, for the better!
Wendz, your day in London sounds lovely! I wish it was easier for me to get there, would love to pop in for a day rather than trying to squeeze a year's worth of visit into 2 days!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Sounds like you had a great time Tete, food sounds yum.
Is good to live so near London but don't fancy doing too many trips with a pushchair. Such hard work going up and down stairs at tube stations.0 -
Nice to have you back Tete
sounds like France was blissful! It's nice to come back with a new mindset - that's just what holidays are for. I'm still trying to book something for the week after next - I'm looking forward to getting away to some sunshine, but the website trawling is still not enjoyable! How churlish of me
Have you booked anything yet Lara? I forgot when you said you were going...?
Not long til your honeymoon now Birdie! Are you all sorted?
Wendz I don't envy you on the underground with a buggy! Are people pretty helpful or not really? Sounds like you had a nice day though.LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Can imagine it being hard work with a buggy Wendz, must be difficult to move down certain busy streets too with all the people refusing to move out of your way!
It's 27 days 'till the honeymoon! :j We're more or less sorted, got a new bikini on Saturday (£8 Primark jobby, only needs to last a couple of days by the pool!) and pretty much sorted for holiday wear, hoping to get some bargains when we're over there so won't be taking too much. After payday we'll be able to get $1300ish, we've got $250 already (although that has been earmarked as treats for Robsy as it was birthday money!), Mum said something ages ago about giving us a $500 pre-paid Visa thingy as a wedding gift, she's gone quiet about it (probably forgotten) but I'm going to ask in a nice roundabout fashion tonight to see if we're still getting it. OH's also got an empty CC just in case/for any big purchases (not that we're planning any but you never know) but since we've already got the tickets we should be OK. $100 a day is pretty manageable, especially as I've got my magic discount card for meals (or $150 is Mummy is kind!)
OH should also get some dollars for his birthday in a couple of weeks. I've been stressing about not having enough money for it for so long that I can't quite believe that we've actually paid the holiday off, paid for all of the park tickets and we've got plenty to spend whilst we're there. So relieved! :j

Yey, glad you're back Tete. Sounds like you're feeling more positive which is great.
I think I may be joining in on the fitness site when I get back from NYC. I'm been putting off doing anything before we go in case I damage my knee and can't walk when we're there, but I have an urge to get a bit healthier. While the diet of slightly reduced portions and less treats has gone well this year and I'm nearly a stone down, I can't say I'm any fitter really as I still don't exercise.
Very stressed today, not ready for New York at all and some egit clipped NIM on his bike as he came to work this morning and now I'm really angry at ignorant drivers who don't pay attention to cyclists. At least its payday.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Poor NIM! Is he OK? And the bike? I'm a really nervous cycler for that very reason, I hate being surrounded by cars knowing that they're not paying attention to me!
