The baby room in John Lewis has a section for bfing and bottle feeding with bottle warmers and a nappy changing area. I bet it encourages more parents to shop there, is a good idea.

CMD - it is true it gets easier with time. The first few weeks were so hard!

I wasn't actually going to day plan at all tbh (excpet our anniversary) but I think making a list of which neighbourhood everything is in is wise as otherwise there will be a little bakery or tiny museum or something we miss and have to spend 50 mins on the underground getting back to. I'm not going to schedule it to the hour, just plot on a map where everything is that we want to see. Plus most of the museums are closed one or two days a week so I want to go to that area on a day its open. But (most importantly) I need to know which areas I'll be in on which days so that we can book the restaurant week meals on the first few days and go out for some amazing food for a lot less than it should be. I do get what you're saying though, and I hope to discover a lot of things too. This has just been my dream holiday for so long I don't want to miss anything.

Anyone seen the Virgin 'rock star service' adverts? We just got our booking info through and I have to question if rock stars transfer from the airport to the hotel by bus! Especially when I know a towncar is $22 each way for up to 4 people and I'm sure a big company like Virgin would have a discount on that for the regular custom.

Friend is coming over tonight so we can pick an evening class for next year to do together. Current front runner (just for the craic tbh) is rocking horse making classes.

Shhh with all your babyness, you're making me broody!

I can imagine how hard it was. I was expressing and bottle feeding for the first 4 weeks and felt like that pump was sugically attached to me!

The magic John Lewis room is amazing Birdie!

Maybe it's a tour bus?! Does seem a bit tight though, you pay extra with Virgin for the service and perks, I'd expect a towncar!

Wow rocking horse making class does sound fun, although i can imagine pretty hard!

When we went to new york we did a rough plan of what we wanted to do when so we didn't miss anything out. You can always change and adapt if you want to see something you haven't got on plan.

Hey everyone! I've been ridiculously busy! Been babysitting my little brother (18 months old) and yesterday he was sick like 8 times in an hour. It was insane. I've never seen so much sick! All over me, him and the floor, poor thing. :(
I feel a little less "What am I going to do?" and a bit more "What am I going to do?" if that makes sense?!

Great news! Glad you had fun :)

Haha! :D Since babysitting more, I completely understand why parents give in to their children and give them what they want when they throw a tantrum. It's so embarrassing when you're out and they're screaming!

It's funny, I used to be so broody, but now I'm single I really don't want kids for ages! Strange that.

Your London and NY trips are gonna be so fun Dinah! I have no other suggestions for London other than to echo Borough Market. Hope you're ok NIM.

I'll write a better/longer reply tomorrow when I'm not knackered! :o But hope everyone is ok! x

Dinah, ahead of London, print out some 2 for 1 offer vouchers *when you google it, it will come up. You can use them on lots of attractions. Having failed that you can pick up the booklet from train stations, you need to have valid train ticket in your hand though, oyster card is not acceptable anymore (you can use your tickets if they are return on any days inbetween the journeys, it doesn't need to be valid on sat or sun as long as you have both tickets with you-so don't throw it away once you arrive at London).
