Hope NIM is okay! Cycling is really scary - it's like we're always being encouraged to walk or bike instead of drive, but I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.

Aye he's okay, sounds like the bike bore the brunt of it. Dad is going to come over tonight to have a look at it. NIM sounds less shaken than me about the whole experience tbh! I don't bike because I'm scared of cars, clearly with good reason!

For NY I need to make a sort of day by day plan, so we know whats in the same area as other things and don't end up going backwards and forwards and rushing. Also with restaurant week being on once we have our days planned I want to try to book us into restaurants for the evenings to save money, lunches we'll take as it comes. I'm looking forward to being able to go for an after dinner drink as neither of us will be driving as well.

Guys I'm fine, the muppet clipped the back of my bike, broke a spoke on my rear mudguard and my back tyre is now flat, which I then cycled 3.5 miles on...now THAT was the hard bit, I was actually enjoying my cycle until then, even with the rain.

TBH if it wasnt for the broken spoke I wouldnt have been sure he did connect with me this morning.

I feel a 1000 times better after that nap!

Nice to have you back Tete and thanks for the kind words! I always find I think quite a lot on holidays and come back with lots of different ideas about life. Was the food lovely?

Birdie - you are going off on honeymoon 1 day before my due date so hopefully my baby will have been born before you get back! You must be getting so excited now.

Dinah - hope NIM is okay. I am a nervous cycler too. Can you not do up a list of things to do in New York when you are on the flight. There is nothing wrong with having a few free days as well. Part of what I love on hols is wandering around and stumbling upon nice restaurants or quirky sights! You don't want to come back needing another hol!

Yay to the iPhone Lara! Did you book your honeymoon yet?

Any idea where you are going on hols Poddle?

Wendz - sounds like a lovely day with Poppy. Hope her jabs go okay this afternoon. Friends of mine that BF said that popping them on immediately afterwards seemed to calm them down. I used to have a bottle to calm Max. Now the chocolate buttons does for him!

Aww, I hope you're early CMD so I don't miss out on the birth excitement! :)

Glad you're OK NIM, shame there isn't some sort of bike insurance to cover thinhgs like muppets hitting you!

Can you stick everything you want to go into Google maps and use that to figure out where you need to be each day Dinah?! Remember your ID at all times if you want a drink, they love checking it! :)

LOLing at the thought of just 'popping a baby on' CMD! ;)

Yikes NIM, glad you're OK! That's exactly why I don't cycle (and I don't get on with the saddles :o) Do you cycle all the way from home to work??

Augh, now I'm jealous of all the holiday talk, I only have my weekend in London to look forward to next month! Ahh the food was lovely CMD, my friend's mam is a lovely cook and Irish hospitality being what it is I never went hungry :D

Haha had to think for a minute what BF and 'popping on' meant :o

Forgot to say Lara I'm jealous of your iPhone too, would love one. But I don't even need the £20 contract I'm on at the mo as I don't use it enough so I can hardly justify going up to £35 a month. Plus I'd NEVER get anything done with constant access to FB, MSE, Twitter, Blogger, Flickr, Pinterest, eBay, Ravelry, Hotmail.........

Scary NIM, glad you are ok.

Poddle - people did offer help actually which surprised me in london. Had more people speak to us with a baby with us than i have ever had in london lol.

Birdie - so exciting about the honeymoon being so soon. Sounds like you are sorted moneywise which takes some stress away.

CMD - can't believe baby is so soon! Glad you feel better after nap.

That is the beauting of bfing, can just 'pop them on' haha. I tried out the bfing room in John Lewis yesterday.

Poor Poppy was distraught at her jabs, gave the nurse a right evil.

I am laughing at myself saying pop her on like it is the easiest thing in the world, when I had such trouble BF'ing Max myself! From what others say though, once BF'ing is established it is pretty easy to pop them on!

I love the John Lewis baby room :)

My SIL is really funny when she talks about BF, she's not got a baby yet but keeps saying that she'll 'Pop it on't b00b' for as long as she can as it saves money, she's a farmer's lass, anything to save a few quid! I didn't know that there were magic rooms in John Lewis for it though!
