Wow nice prams ladies!! The icandy is so high tech looking - coool pods. I chucked at Dinah and CMD's posts. Buggy of the day - awesome.
Cinny, YAY for purchases!! Woot!! Show us your holiday too
OH and I are a bit further on the honeymoon front. I spotted a great deal for 10 days Sri Lanka and Dubai 4/5* all inclusive, I think it was £950 each, but OH vetoed it
I am not a big fan of Dubai but could do a bit of fieldwork for uni in the Dragon Market (mobile phones). OH is unmoved.
Last year we wanted to go to San Sebastian in northern Spain for a week and tour Rioja for another week, so we've started looking at that again. It's so much more affordable and there are lots of interesting castle-y type places to stay and a wine bus that goes through all the little vineyard towns so you can go boozing :P So it's looking like - fly into Bilbao, stay a night and visit Guggenheim museum. Get the wine bus and stay at some vineyards for 3 or so nights. Arrive in Logrono, apparently home of the best tapas in Spain and eat tapas for about 4 nights. Travel up north to the coast to San Sebastian and chill out there for 5 nights or so. Now all we have to do is all that hotel research and booking that I didn't want to do in the first place
Slightly gutted we're not going somewhere more exotic on honeymoon, but I know we'll have a great time in this region of Spain. I did find an excellent site Unusual Hotels of the World which have some really cool UK places not toooo expensive. Windmill? Manor only accessible by tiny railway? Or Old railway station?

That sounds fab Lara, a wine bus has to be the greatest thing I've heard of in a long time!
I don't think there's a rule that you have to do 'exotic' for your honeymoon, heck we're going to Disney, that's hardly the typical exotic honeymoon location!
I honestly think that you'll have a great time touring spain, drinking wine and gorging on tapas so who cares if it's not a 13 hour plane ride away!
I shall enjoy having a look at that website later! Look great!

Got an email back last night from the blood service. Unfortunately my suspicions were correct and I definately can't donate, now or in the future. Will book NIM in though and go with him as moral support as he hates needles so this is a big thing for him.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -
They don't hurt NIM. I donate at regular intervals. Due to go on Monday will be my 5th donation0

Just stop NIM and I going mad (here)
3 words ho mi naThey don't hurt NIM. I donate at regular intervals. Due to go on Monday will be my 5th donation
I'm just bloody petrified of them, logic wont shut it out which sucks but hey. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
Try not to fret NIM. It really doesn't hurt too much (I won't lie and say it doesn't full stop, but it's not an awful pain.) It's not really a needle, but they do !!!!! your finger before hand to make sure everything's good. My Sister is terrified of needles too, and the only thing I'd tell her is that if they can't find a vein explain your fear and leave. They couldn't find a vein on me but opted to just shove it in and root about for a while.
My Great Aunt got sent a snazzy pen for donating either 50 times, or for 50 years. My Nan couldn't remember!
Those holiday places look so neat, Lara!! Sounds like you have a good plan, all the hotel searching and bookings will be worth it once you're there. This is where we're going.
ETA: That wasn't even a real curse word. And I can't even think of another word to replace it. So balls!0 -
Donating blood is small price to pay for what it costs the NHS in juice and biscuits for me to recover.0

I know it doesnt hurt, had plenty of needles of the years, I'm just irrationally afraid of them, and as I say I cant bloodly logic it away, believe me I have tried.
I think you could hae said pierce instead of a slang word for male genitalia

No, that one b*stard hurt. I'll call it the former
I suppose the best thing to do would be not to look. A girl on the bed across from me was freaking out, was told to look away and the next thing I heard was 'oh! I didn't even notice!' You don't need to explain it, it's just one of those things. It's like me and pennies. There's no explanation to that at all! Bleurgh!0
