We went to Croatia about 7years ago (wow was it THAT long ago??) and it was fab. We loved it there.
Yay to cheque clearing Cinny. You must be sooooo excited
It was about 10 years ago we went there and I fell head over heels in love with it. We went to Split, Hvar, Korcula and Dubrovnik and it was one of my favourite holidays!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
DFD:Nov 22/June 22
Mortgage: €199,712

The only reason I don't want to say Cinny has won is it's been inspiring people to make changes they have been putting off for ages so I'd be worried if we have a 'winner' we'll start to slack off again??? I know knowing lots of people are in it together has really helped me be motivated.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -
Well we'll say Cinny's won (because she has really, if any of us had won £14 we'd put it towards the challenge so why should £14k be any different?!) so it's a race to be 2nd! 2nd's the best anyway according to the rhyme!
I've got no honeymoon recommendations Lara, we're suckers for resorts and being obvious tourists!OH is so scared of being kidnapped by ninjas (he's an oddball) he says he'll never go to Asia, which sucks as it's on my list!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Despite being only a few months old I think Poppy would object to going out with you in that!
She already looks at us like we are embarassing :rotfl:
Cinny - hope you feel better soon, hopefully the cheque clearing helped!
Managed to do some more housework, other bathroom has been cleaned and bedroom hoovered. Feel like i am doing good this week with it.0 -
Jumping in just to say Lara, Greece might be affordable too. We are off mid September to Halkidiki, 7 nights all inclusive in a 5 star resort with flights (easyjet) cost for the 2 of us £750. The flights were £220, the accomodation £530. As an extra, we are also renting a car to go around that part of Greece, it's £140 including all insurances (but we are going together with other couple so that's only £70 plus petrol for us, very MSE). Flights were booked through easyjet website, accomodation through travelrepublic, and car rental through moneysupermarket.
Can also recommend Croatia though I don't really fancy pebble beach and it's very rare to find sandy one there (not impossible though).
And yes, Cinny won the challenge:p,0 -

Haha, I'm the worst! I pity whoever comes third
I was only joking about winning, I honestly don't mind. I had a letter from my bank this morning to say 'We noticed you deposited a cheque into your account. You might already have plans for this but if not..' Oh aye, I bet they noticed!0 -

LOL at your bank letter Cinny! They don't charge £38 for that letter - unlike those ones when you go overdrawn. Sorry you're feeling sick
and WELL DONE for winning the challenge, woot woot!!
Thanks for the honeymoon recommendations guys, I really appreciate it. OH and I are having a crunch meeting about it tonight. Decisions have to be made! Will def. look into Croatia, and I really like the sound of Greece too Kavics. Sorry for having a wobble, it always happens when my expectations meet our MSE realityOn the plus side it has hardly cost me anything to renew all my various student and ISIC cards, and I got an NUS extra card thrown in for a very respectable £4 instead of £11. Amazon discounts ahoy!!
