Hi everyone
Haven't posted for ages but have been lurking. Can't join in this as debt-ness has got huge and can't even think of how to sort it at the moment but just thought I'd wish you all well with the challenge xxLet's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:Virgin CC £9793.710 -
Ooooh got all the wedding piccies now, send me a PM if you'd like a nosey
Hi Pilchard!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
I'd love to see the wedding photos Lara, but my laptop battery is nearly dead so I don't have the juice to reply here and PM
Sorry to hear things are so stressful for you CMD, and I'm not just saying that. It sounds so awful. I know it's easier said than done but try to relax the best you can, and take good care of yourself with as many breaks as you can while you're running around looking after everybody else. And Lara, if my recent luck was transferable I'd send you all a slice!
Flower, I actually had to wait until almost 2pm to cash it in! Still shaking a little bit
Hope everybody has a lovely weekend!! x0 -
Wow lara thank you! the pictures are stunning and there are some of the typewriters and the books! The venue looks perfect and I love that lit-up dance floor!! (especially the pictures of the little ones on it- how cute!!) Your dress looks stunning and you look so happy! I know I sound like I'm gushing but i loved all of the pics!! the ccakes looked pretty epic too!! I dont even know where you would get that much cheese from and was it the sushi seaweed round the bottom one? LOVE IT!!
Cinny, I can not believe you have got a cheque for £14,000. I dont even think I earn that in a year once I've paid NI, student loan, income tax pension etc! just tp get it in one lmp in one day.. sheesh!! It sounds like you have good plans for it anyway and I love that youre treating our family to some bits and also doing the kitchen and putting some away! that will really set you up for a long time and I am a bit jealous (sorry!) but I am so happy for you!! I bet your eyes will be glued to your internet anking next week making sure it clears!!
Tete sorry to hear youre buay at work but I agree it generally makes time fly by! I've had a super quick week this week and I dont know where the time has gone!
Think I'll have about another £50 to add to the challenge soon!! (need to wait for it to go into my bank!) which is very good! and I've done another review in the top category so that will hopefully be £1 towards the challenge (I aim for 60p for writing then 20 reads @2p each = £1 per review, but if I write in the 30p category I need more like 50 reads and I never get that) I can't believe I havent managed to updat my ticker since I started this challenge! actually wait - I got £20 the other day! I'll now go and see how to edit it! it's basically been spent though in just cash things this week (cinema, drinks etc) but I will still add it!
I've got a very quiet weekend lined up here, hopefully get some things done around the house and boring things like that!0 -
wow Cinny that cheque is amazing. I'm so pleased for you (and just a tiny bit jealous
). Glad you got it in the bank safe though.
CMD and Lara Hope your luck changes soon. How long is OH likely to be off work CMD?
Glad the insurance is going to pay out Lara. Hope they won't take too long about it either.
We've had mixed luck here. DH wrote his car off on the way to work last week. He's okay but I was a bit gutted about it. (I am grateful I only had a car to cry over not DH as well) We are now in the process of getting a cheque off the insurance people to cover the cost of the car. It actually turned out okay as we've got finance on the car and the cheque from the insurance will clear the finance so that's a big part of our debt wiped out. We decided we're not going to replace his car as I've only got 4 weeks left in work and only work 2 miles down the road so I can catch a bus during the day and my mum has offered to pick me up when I work late. So it actually turns out to be a good thing as it will wipe almost £2500 off our debt.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Wow Cinny, taking the cheque was definitely the right option! Enjoy seeing that amount of money in your bank account, I'd be too scared to spend it to be honest!
Hope the insurance comes through for you soon Lara. I'm always paranoid about having my bag snatched or something.
OH is staying here for the weekend while my folks are away. It's nice to spend so much time with him but we can't really do much because he doesn't feel well. So i'm being nurse today it looks like!

Glad your OH is okay Starnac. And it sounds like it has worked out alright, in a weird way. We all need a bit of Cinny's luck winging our way I think!
My OH started working from home yesterday although he still seems to be in a lot of pain and its debatable by the moans and groans if he is improving at all. He was actually going to do some overtime (at home) today but I told him not to bother. He did some in May and still hasn't gotten paid for it. I have asked him to chase it up every week as its not like we don't need the money, and he said he is, but obviously he isn't, as what company wouldn't be able to sort it out in 3 months??? So as far I am concerned there is no point in working when he can't even manage to sort something out from 3 months ago. It was the same with the relocation money he is due. It is a lot of money (£1000) and we moved in Feb. I had to physically look up the receipts and place them in his work bag 2 weeks ago and they still aren't through. I am sick to the back teeth of being the organiser.
Sorry for the rant all, just so angry today. As well as having to run around after OH and Max I feel like I have to organise everything as well. I am 34 weeks pregnant, anemic and feel shattered and not supported.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

poor you CMD. Don't apologise for the rant. it's better to get it off your chest here than throw something at OH
He does really need to sort out the relocation money and the overtime. surely he realises that you need that money?Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

I think he has put in for the relocation money but he said that someone is chasing up the overtime. In other words, he asked someone about a month ago and they have forgotten. The saga will continue for another few months I'm sure. I'm just sick of it....

Lucky you. Bet you can't wait
I've got 4 weeks left and counting. i can't wait. tempted to finish earlier but can't afford to and really need to get my NVQ finished so it's not left hanging over me while I'm off. I'm nearly there now though.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000
