Morning all!
I caught up last night but was too sleepy to replySorry if I miss anyone but I'm still sleepy now!
Cinny I'm super mega excited and pleased for your massive cheque! Shopping spree sounds brill, I'm always interested in what people have bought so link away!
Lara, you'll have probably seen my PM by now but I love the wedding photos, the whole thing looked so darn cute and fun! I really love the playful ones of you and your hubby.I can't believe you had your bag knicked though! That's just horrendous, and to happen on the day that you're carrying all those gift cards?! What a disaster. Hope the insurance pays out quickly. Probably a bit late now but wondering if there's any way of tracing which gift cards were bought by people and cancelling them? At least it might stop some of the git's fun.
CMD sorry you're having such a rubbish time right now.At least you're finished with work now, hope you get a nice leaving pressie from them, you deserve one! Can your Mum/another relative come over for a few days to give you some support and comfort? Or can your OH's Mum come over and nurse him better?! I'd be annoyed about the not chasing up money thing too, you must feel like marching into his office and doing it for him!
That article made me laugh EE, there was one similar to it in the Sun a while back and OH cut it out and left it on the coffee table when he knew the friends were coming round so that they'd see it! they said nothing though, probably failed to note that the article was condemming tight hosts, not saying that it's right! They're on their honeymoon right now and every other day they're updating their FB saying how amazing it is, if it's that great why are they on FB?! When we're away I'm sure we'll be too busy having fun with Mickey and the gang to tell everyone back home about it, who don't actually give a rats a55 anyway!
London was good, but it was hot and very busy. Shopping was very disappointing, didn't find anything I liked (apart from some Louboutins which were a little out of my price range!) and just got a pink shopping bag and some tea towels from Harrods as Mum wanted to buy me something. We found Fortnum and Mason and I have declared that one day I will have an F&M hamper. I've decided that it's just not worth going away with my Mum though, as much as we have fun during the day, sharing a room is a disaster, she snores so badly it's like a pneumatic drill in my head all night long. I was dead on my feet by the time I got home as I was running on so little sleep, takes all the enjoyment out of the weekend. That and getting ripped off left, right and centre. Pretty much spent 2 month's entertaining budget on 8 piddly cocktails over the 2 nights. :eek:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Glad you had a good time Birdie, apart from the sharing a room with your mum part! Those hampers do look amazing but a little on the pricy side!0

Morning all, and hi EE! Love that article, maybe you could link to it on your FB Birdie seeing as they have nothing better to do than go on there on their honeymoon! The "in a typical summer of five BBQs" statistic made me chuckle though, I don't think I've been to five BBQs in the last five YEARS because of the crappy weather!
How exciting Cinny, glad you went for the laptop and love that you bought a broom! Would love to see your kitchen and any other links you have. Did you save a good chunk of the money too? My conscience wouldn't let me spend all of it I don't think, even if it was on big things like doing up the house.
Sorry OH is still working long shifts Wendz, seems to be dying down a bit now so hopefully not much longer.
Ohhh Birdie I would love one of those F&M hampers, not bothered about what's inside them - I just want the basket part!! I could keep fabric and wool in it ... of have two - one for each!
Must dash, soooo busyHow dare work be busy when I've got holiday stuff to organise as well?!

Owwwh dang it! I had a reply good to go but clicked the screen off when someone came in my Office and because I'm so clever, clicked the X to bring it back up. Grr!
Sorry you couldn't get down to Southampton all weekend Wendz, at least you got a day down there though, better than being flat-bound while you OH worked all weekend!
Shame about the shopping part of London, Birdie. I hate it when you can't find a single thing you like! I love those hampers though, mainly the Berkeley one. Pretty!
As for the kitchen, we're going for these doors, only with these handles and I think he put us down for this workop. But the package price comes with the sink, tap and waste. As well as the oven with hob and extractor fan. We just need to settle on tiles and paint, but I think we'll be sticking with neutrals. I guess we'll see!0 -
I just want the basket too, well maybe 2, one big one and one a bit smaller to sit on top. I've even got a spot they could go in!
They are pricey though, although no more expensive than a Betty's hamper and you get the basket to keep and the tins that the tea, coffee and biscuits come in are keepsakes too so really it makes sense to buy one. Or two!

Love the kitchen Cinny!
I have just e-mailed my managers at work asking about how i request flexible working for when i go back. I am going to ask to do earlier hours and also to do 4 days a week. Really nervous about asking but worse they can do is say no.0 -
Your work have always sempt lovely Wendz, hopefully they'll be able to work your hours how you want.
And thanksOdd question, but what kind of tiles and wall colour do you have Birdie? I'm seriously stuck - I can't picture anything beyond the ratty white and grey one we have now. Which is a pain!

I hope so! Just e-mailed my director saying i will let him know and he emailed back saying 'i love forward to hearing from you' bless him with his wording mistakes. Going to have a chat to OH about what to request but don't think he minds too much.Won't be making much after travel/childcare but would like to keep working or i am worried about losing career.0

LOL, I know that feeling Cinny! I had to actually search through the pics on my phone to find a photo of my kitchen as I couldn't remember what it looks like!
Boring and neutral it turns out, typical new build cream!
I think you'd be best having quite neutral tiles and painting one wall a statement colour and getting things to match, then if you get bored you're not stuck with purple tiles!
Hope you get what you want work-wise Wendz, I'm sure they'll come up with something good for you.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

I really love the metro style tiles, maybe in black or cream? Dulux have a whole 'calm orange' range that I love just about every shade of. My brain is working now! Thank goodness for that
I can understand you wanting to get back to work Wendz. And it'll be good for Poppy to go too a nursery (or whatever they're called - my brain isn't working that well today!) for baby socializing! Keeping my fingers crossed they manage to sort something for you0
