hi

one late payment should not have had that much effect on your credit rating. if you feel you have suffered financial loss then complain to the company. go through there complaints proceedure and if you have no joy with them after 8 weeks take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

• Any recent successes with Egg?

I'm claiming £220. Got a letter today saying that they are offering me £12. :rotfl: There really are some jokers in these banks.

Just wondering what other recent experiences are. Do I go with letter 2 on this or head straight to the FOS?
• Just to let you know I managed to crack Egg.:rotfl:

Sent them letter 2 on 30 August. Recieved a letter today saying they are paying the £220 charges and £33.84 interest. :j Oh and they say that it is confidential. :rotfl:

So keep claiming everyone.:j
• Hi,

I'm going to start my claim on my Egg Card, but have a couple of questions that I hope someone can help with.

Firstly, what's the best address to send the initial letter to? They have:

Egg Card Services
Riverside Road
Pride Park
Derby
DE99 3GG

on their website. Is that best, or is there another one I should use?

Secondly, I'm in Scotland now but lived in England when I got the card. Does this make any difference?

Thirdly, should I ask for details for more than the 5 years. I'm sure I read somewhere that I might be able to claim for any period?

Thanks for any help!

Hi, I have successfully reclaimed over £900 from my Natwest card. So far I've been too nervous to try with my Egg card as I owe around £4,500 on there and am scared they will demand the balance if I do.

I was one of those who had their egg account cancelled a while back so I can no longer spend on it and I just continue to pay it off gradually.

Does anyone know if it is likely they will be able to demand the balance if I win some charges back from them?

TIA

I think they have done what they can do. In that they have closed the account and you have to repay it. I don't think they suddenly demand all of the money back. I could be wrong but I remeber reading that was the case. I am sure someone will be along soon to confirm it one way or the other.
Nice to save.

They won't be able do just demand all the money back, any court will see most people can not afford to pay that sort of money back in one go so don't worry.

Go on and claim back your charges, remember it is six years prior to when you claim so time is ticking, the more you leave it the less you can claim...
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T
• Hi, they won't demand all their money back - isn't in their interest while they're still gaining interest off you!
I claimed back from Egg and they settled pretty quickly for the full amount asked for, so don't worry too much! x

Thanks so much everyone for all your help - it's really reassuring to know, and Bigspoon - that didn't even occur to me that they would still want to continue claiming interest off me so thanks for pointing that out, it makes perfect sense!

I'm sending the letter today requesting my charges - thanks again
• Ok everyone, that's my SAR request sent off with £10 postal order. Have also sent them a secure message which tells them directly to expect the SAR request.

Hopefully this will be relatively straighforward as it involves card and not bank charges. Going by what has been said on this and other forums, any refund tends to be reasonably quick - anything to help reduce the balance of this asap.

At the moment, the balance of the account is over £1800 which I've reduced from £2,200 about 5 months ago so progress is definitely being made in the right direction! I'm now making regular payments to this account of £110 per month the day after my pay day, so things are whittling away nicely - but every little bit will help.

I've also asked if they would consider lowering the 21.5% APR given that they have closed the account at their choice, but they have refused.

Anyone had any success with them yet?
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
