Hello,
Was wondering if someone could advise...
I had a credit card with Egg that was passed on to Capquest. I sent Capquest a CCA request and they provided it (seems to be legit, has my signature, and the Consumer Credit Act at the top).
I am currently paying Capquest £25 a month direct debit but have decided to S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) Egg to help meet some of the total costs.
Question : If I am sending a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) to Egg (the account was closed a few years ago), does this mean that I can stop the monthly payments to Capquest whilst this is happening? If so, can Caquest still keep adding on interest in the interim?
Many thanks for any help!

Hi, most of my charges were on credit cards. As these are already admitted as penalty charges in the OFT report and by banks, can I still go ahead with my claims for these?
I would have thought so myself but wondering what anyone else thinks.
Also, egg continues to charge £16 for overlimit charges and stated the OFT allows Egg alone to do this, is this true?!
Many thanks for your help.0 -
After much requesting of statements etc. I had no charges on my Egg Credit card, which i was very surprised about. But i realised transferred the maxed balance to an Egg Loan, which i'm sure i was less careful about paying on time......
Is there any way i can claim for late payment charges etc on an Egg Loan.... I'm thinking not but wanted an official expert opinion!
I've requested list of charges from them anyway, just to boot myself up the bum and see how much money i squandered!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
I had an Egg and got into problems making repayments, same old same old.
I ended up being 300 pouns over my limit of 2k ( mainly due to charges). Egg passed the matter on to Evershed solicitors who wrote wanting a list of all my outgoings and my bank statements. They reviewed my situation and sent a letter asking me to pay 20 pounds a month towards the debt. I got the balance down to 1900 pounds and , after remortgaging my house, rang them for a settlement figure. They said they would accept 1600 pounds. I duly paid that amount and the account was closed. Would it be really greedy of me to try and reclaim charges ??
