I'd submit that you're simply choosing to read things into a posting that categorically weren't there because that suits your argument
If people post a certain way, I take it that way, if they then backtrack and make excuses, not my problem.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Not necessarily a man. Just another person who possesses the required skills.
Luckily for me, OH is an engineer and very good at fixing the electrical appliances. Luckily for him, I am meticullous when washing the dishes, as he is just awful at that! It's like he doesn't even look at the item when he's washing it, just gives it a once over with a sponge or brush, and that puts it on the drying rack, often with dirt still on it!
I insist on washing the dishes now. He does the hoovering though. I hate hoovering.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Belnahua - with respect, I think it would be better to address such personal issues between you via PM. Not on a random thread.February wins: Theatre tickets0

Oh.....I didn't realise that you presided over all pronouncements on this forum and had the ability to decide if someone was getting 'above themselves'.
I interpret that statement as the only person 'getting above themselves' is......you.
For the record, I have clarified, I don't have a problem, and I don't really care if you think that I do have a problemI have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

'Mistresses' :rotfl:sorry that phrase amuses me
What a derogatory term to use against an woman.
For the record, I am not anyone's mistress. He is mine
But it's the correct terminology, if the cap fits, etc. etc...Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Very sad, but shows that (at least some) men will protect their women, their families, even if it means they may die themselves.
If it came to capsizing, I'd be more useful - I've done a lot of sailing, OH has done very little (-:
there are some things I leave to OH. I'm 5 ft 7, he's 6 ft 1. He's super-fit and athletic, I'm average. And he's a man, which means he does have greater strength for his height and weight.
So there are heavy things I could do, but as it's easier for him, it makes sense for me to leave them to him....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

That's fine...but the problem with 'twisting people's tails' if you believe they've got 'a bit above themselves' is that they, or someone else, may well turn round and stamp on your testicles in response
By the way, what do you define as 'getting a bit above themselves'? What criteria are you using to judge this 'base level' they've supposedly risen above?“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”

Would love to know this as well. Is there a checklist? :rotfl:I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off
