You don't subscribe to right or wrong. What about for rape, assault, murder etc? Is there understandable rape?
Surely you're not comparing an affair to rape????? Or criminal acts???
Heard it all now!!

In your view, not in mine.
The subject under discussion is extra-marital affairs not rape, assault or murder. Ironic this, given a few postings above I was being clobbered for quoting out of context. You don't subscribe to right or wrong. What about for rape, assault, murder etc? You said you don't subscribe to right or wrong, not that in instances of affairs do you not subscribe to it.
Personally I's say affairs are as bad and damaging as some criminal acts.
EDIT: If having an affair was made a criminal offence does that means you'd change your opinion on it?0 -

What a load of cobblers, and I speak as someone who's ex had an affair, I had an affair, and I've also been a victim of violent crime, burglary and arson, and I bloody know which was the worst, and it wasn't the affairs!!! Get some perspective will you?0 -

It is not that simple! It is your view vs. someone else's view. Who decided that your view is always, always right?
You're comparing affairs to rape and murder? You've lost any credibility you had.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -

No I questioned her right/wrong theory.
If affairs aren't wrong why are they hidden, built upon lies and deceit etc?
That would be because they are in fact wrong. If they weren't wrong you'd be in an open relationship with a consenting partner.0 -

So what criminal acts do you consider to be on par with having an affair then?0 -

I said it in a thread about extra-marital affairs, in a posting I made that was purely about extra-marital affairs. It doesn't take an awful lot of mental agility to conclude I'm talking about extra-marital affairs and not about rape, assault, genocide in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Tottenham riots or any other unrelated matters you could apply concepts of 'right' or 'wrong' to.Personally I's say affairs are as bad and damaging as some criminal acts.
I'm sure you do, but as you've also said that you sit around at home on your own, lonely and intent on never having another relationship because you can't trust anyone again, my opinion is that yours is not the most balanced and dispassionate of views.EDIT: If having an affair was made a criminal offence does that means you'd change your opinion on it?
That's a pretty bizarre question. Only in fundamentally religious and authoritarian states like Saudi Arabia is infidelity a crime and we all know how they choose to uphold their concepts of 'right' and 'wrong'.“Don't do it! You questioned nothing. You said "all of those are wrong. It is that simple".
I think we exhausted the wrong vs. right argument a long time ago. They are inherently wrong, but sometimes understandable/excusable/inevitable in some people's opinions. Not everyone's.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0
