As a newbie I'm very excited to have discovered that my family weren't simpy rolling their eyes when I chatted MSE and OS but were mentally writing present lists.

    I got:
    a blender
    a slow cooker
    a massive soup pan
    a set of knives
    a chopping board
    2 cook books and
a years worth of toiletries which means I don't need to go spending!

I brought my parents and my sister and her partner thrifty ways and they all sat reading yesterday.

Today my parents have been checking out their store cupboard and I think my dad has been reading up about breadmakers on the internet! Yay! They've been converted! :T
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...

I got 3 M&S Cookery books - a stirfry one, a "quick and easy" one and a chocolate one

some lovely recipe ideas and also moneysaving if you plan for them and don't buy all your ingredients from M&S Foodhall as recommended

Also got a "stockpot" which is no bigger than my existing pans so will be swapping that for either a larger one or a slow cooker... (i know which i'd prefer...)

And got Thrifty Ways which I have almost finished :o

I guess all the luxury smellies are moneysaving if not OS as it means that I don't have to buy any for the next 365days :)

    Hi Lucky

TP is Terry Pratchett - author of the Discworld series of novels.

Nanny Ogg is one of the characters with her own cookbook relative to some of the stories in the series.

I have just finished watching The Hogfather (which was on sky 1 on Christmas day and today) - 4 hours long and brilliant!!! First TP novel to be made into a real people film. Hope they do more!
