  • I also brought the voucher off groupon, i had an email last year apologising for the problems they had with delivery etc and they offered to send out the straightners for free but keep the £7.50 postage which of course I took......I have not heard anything since and I have never had a reply to my various emails I have sent to different email addresses. Utterly shocking customer service!

The same is happening to me. I've complained to Groupon. I told them that if they explore the power of collectiveness to make money they should also stand by this concept when things go wrong (rogue merchants such as O Spa London) as opposed to leave the customers fighting individually.
As a gesture of goodwill they credited my Groupon account with £7.50. At least i got the money back in some form.

I urge everyone who is in the same situation to do the same. Groupon may do it again and most importantly they may flag O Spa, thus avoiding other being caught in the future by the O Spa scammers.
Nevertheless, I will go after these scammers from O Spa who do not even reply to your emails... not sure how to do it yet, but will start soon working on it.
Any MoneySaver out there that managed to get the £7.50 back recently?

Having experienced the same problems with the OSpa/Groupon straighteners voucher, I thought I'd just say that I have FINALLY got a refund today for £23.95 (I'd ordered an extra set). Like in the previous posts I had sent umpteen emails, tried phoning and left messages etc. etc. So what worked? Well... it seems that the immortal words Trading Standards did the trick. I used the online OSpa email form and said that if I hadn't heard within seven days I was contacting trading standards, that I was absolutely furious and under no circumstances would I let the matter drop until I received my refund. Lo and behold, I had a reply before the end of the day and a refund by the end of the week. Might be worth a tryif you are still owed money.
  • evening all - just to let you know, i have had word from ospa.............

sent them an email, which is all true, all except the bit where bbc contacted me :) got a reply next day and money back already..... email included

further to my previous emails and letters and phone calls regarding a refund for shocking service of hair straighteners, i wrote to you regarding court action, this has also been ignored if it was recieved, i will tomorrow be taking the matter to trading standards as well. Groupon have assured me your business has not followed through on its promises, and from looking online a lot of other people are in the same boat, you have been reported to BBC watchdog who have contacted me regarding evidence of my emails and facts about the matter, and as of Tomorrow Afternoon Trading standards will be informed unless I have recieved a satisfactory outcome to the matter within the time frame. please contact me on 077******** or email back within 24 hours

    Dear Tom

Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay. Your details has been passed to our account department and your money will be refunded with in 10 days.
    Thankyou
  • Hi folks,
I too had ordered the OSpa straighteners through Groupon in June, and had been fobbed off about getting my refund of £23.95 - I was just repeatedly told they had 'escalated' my complaint. I called Groupon again last week to enquire and they said they weren't working with OSpa any more, so I would just have to chase them myself. Helpful! I did try calling OSpa once more (having not once been able to get through to them previously) on 0845 604 4991 and this time I did get connected, and spoke with a lady called Sue. She took my order number etc, apologised for the delay and assured me the refund would be with me the next day. I was sceptical, but it has indeed been paid back into my account. So keep trying! I can only assume they are counting the profit from all of us who have just given up hope of seeing a refund....
  • After many many months, I finally got my £7.5 postage costs refunded. I've requested the refund several times before with no success. I then complained to Groupon who promptly offered me a refund in credit on my Groupon account. I was not happy and I really did not want O Spa to get away with it. While they never addressed my requests through their own messaging system, all it took was an email with an ultimate to multitraxgroup (check the email O Spa sent immediately after Groupon's cancellation of the deal for details) and two days and the money is now in my account.
I urge everyone who did not receive the hair straighteners and postage costs to write to both Groupon and multitrax (O Spa London). Do not spend any money on stamps/letters. Just email both companies.
In the end I am £7.5 up in credit in my Groupon account after all the mess. I am not sure if I'll ever use this credit as I no longer trust Groupon. While it is a great idea to exploit the power of collectiveness, Groupon is taking a risk much like any other business and thus should stand behind the people who payed them when things go wrong and not let people fight for their rights on an individual basis. Due diligence is something Groupon should be responsible for when they decide to under underwrite a deal on behalf of merchants.

I emailed them 8 days ago - no reply.

Will try ringing and contacting Groupon too.

I had completely forgot they had my £7.50, until i read it on here.

I have only just managed to spend the credit i got from Groupon for the original £15. This was purchsed from a credit from another deal that fell through, and that was purchased from another one. I no-longer bother using Groupon

I bought this offer in JULY LAST YEAR!!! I have still not received them! I have sent umpteen emails, then about 6 weeks ago I got an email saying I would receive them in two weeks as they were now in the warehouse. I have not received the straightners yet and have emailed again and again with no reply. I have said I will go to trading standards and on principle I wanted the straightners regardless. I have also said I will get a solicitor if I do not get them. I have not had any luck so far and am still awaiting them.
What can we do, this is ridiculous to have to wait for so long to get them.
  • Like many staff and ex staff of O SPA I'm owed for the work in I have done for them working in there kensington spa (now closed) -I'm owed £2500 in fact!

Mr Darryl Preston, the owner of O Spa is nothing more than a con-man. He opens spas/salons sells vouchers online, employs staff then closes the site leaving customers and staff out of pocket..... then opens another spa and does the same thing to other innocent people.

Sarita, the manager is the only member of staff that seems to get paid and is more than happy to hire new staff knowing it is going to ruin their lives! like lamb to the slaughter.

myself and many have gone to acas and to the courts and have won our cases, yet we are still waiting payment! my next step is the police.

Darryl Spencer is a crook! do not work, buy or do any kind of bushiness with him, his friends and family should be ashamed of this evil man that has ruined so many lives -including a pregnant member of staff! I urge anyone who has been wronged by this man or any of his many company's to go to the police- this thief NEEDS to be behind bars.

HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH: O SPA LONDON, OSOLE LTD, MULTITRAX LTD

    everything above is 100% true
