Groupon and O Spa London postage scam!

Options
Hi there, A couple of days ago I bought a discount code from GROUPON to get a pair of hair straighteners for £15.00 instead of £99.00. I checked online with O Spa London to see what their postage charges were for the hair straighteners and the cost stated was £3.95. When I tried to order them my groupon code the postage changed to £7.50!!!!!!

Surely they are not allowed to do this. I have emailled and called their head office on 0845 604 4991 only to be automatically redirected to one of their salons who cannot help.

I cannot believe how underhand this is and I now have a bee in my bonnet

I agree it's pretty cheeky. It's probably somewhere in the VERY small print.

    Good bargain though!

Have you spoken to Consumer Rights about this?

I bought this deal too and when I go to redeem my voucher on the website it tells me that my voucher doesn't exist even though it said I could use it from 4th July. I wouldn't mind paying the extra postage because by the looks of things now I'm not even going to receive my straighteners :-( 15 quid down the drain! Anyone else had this problem?
  • I bought a couple of spa treatments for a present for my daughter and she has had hell and all trouble getting through to Ospa. I emailed groupon, and they have offered some lame excuse and a contact No. so we shall wait and see what comes of it

Groupon do this all the time, and other such sites, they inflate the prices and make up postage.

A recent one on the grabbit £10 voucher for £30 spend on beauty site, so everyone included myself went on first earmark products and what you can get for your money, day later after loads of vouchers bought all the prices go up by a lot and the reason...perfume prices have gone up...pathetic!

Another that i posted was for a card set of 30 cards for £14.99 with postage of £3.49, but when you went on the site postage was free on orders of £4 and now you go on the site and it says cards are worth £69 but the morning of the deal the cards were going through the till at £12.60 delivered without buying a voucher and when people bought them they were given a refund...its a joke.

Be very careful with these such deals. :)

I now feel like I have been completely scammed as I logged in and bought them the other day and they charged me £15 P&P!!!!!!!!!! I really think it may be a scam, and at the moment it also says that they have not even been dispatched yet.
Feeling very silly for paying another £15.
    HELP!!!

What the?! I can't believe that! Has anyone else had to pay an extra 15 quid? I still haven't been able to get past the 'type in your voucher' stage, ahhhhh!

i personally would call groupon and demand money back for the voucher.

ages ago i ordered a coupon for an ospa treatment but could never get hold of anyone to book it so i emailled groupon and got the money back.

there is a thread on the gone but not forgotten bit of the grabbit board detailling various ospa failings. in fact i am sure someone there said they was closing?

I do now really regret paying an extra £15, think I just got too excited about the hair straighteners.
I have now emailed Groupon asking about the deal, so I will see what their response it.
Anyone else had any luck yet?

Have you received them yet, AGCam? It sucks that they charge more, but I think I would have done the same and paid extra because it's so frustrating not getting something that you've paid for and been looking forward to :-(
