Oh Stormy, just wanted to add another small voice to the loads who have already spoken. If we could take your pain we would but know that we are all here for as long and whenever you need us

Stormybay, just wanted to send you all the love in the world. You are in my thoughts and prayers.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

Hello again everyone, and thank you all so much. Today has been a little better for me. I went to the supermarket for food stuffs, it was difficult as I think that people are thinking......God, how can she shop with what's happened, but I needed to do it. I was sitting downstairs with the curtains closed wrapped in our huge duvet and decided that I would like to stay there for ever and a day. My youngest daughter came in and said, Mum, I'd really like to make some Dennis the Menace cakes like I used to do with Dad.
Well, how could I refuse, if made me realise that I can't curl up and die for the childrens' sakes as well as mine. I hade a lovely shower (left off the make up in case I cried) and went off to town. It was ok, no one stared at me, and anyone who knew me, stopped to offer condolances (it was in the local paper today). Everyone was really lovely, just like you guys, and it gave me comfort to know how many people cared for my darling hubby.
The coroner also phoned and said that he died of a massive heart attack and there was nothing anyone could do. I feel a little comfort in that as I now don't have to attend an inquest months down the line and relive those last moments in the car again.
This 'survival diary' is such a help to me, so I'd like to thank you all for reading. I know it's not truly DFW, but it will become that eventually as I have lost an income, child minder, football coach, with no insurances or savings (although we both worked, we lived near to the knuckle).
I've just heard about the helicopter crash and now feel so sad for those families too..........they have to now go through the same as me and I wouldn't wish this as anyone.
Much love and good wishes for all those people who feel like I do today...

I can only add my own feelings of warm sympathy for you stormybay. I never venture in DFW, but having seen this thread I am now ashamed at my own petty little worries.
There are many people here thinking of you at this time. They may be just names on a screen but there are real hearts behind them, and I'm sure that whenever you need a word of help and comfort, you will find the right one in here.
God bless xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
I lost my brother when his Motorcycle hit a bus and the irony of it is that his friend was on the bus as a passenger and whitness " how i always wished that bloody bus was late" however is was'nt he died at the scene. I take comfort in knowing my Brother did'nt suffer and knowing your Husband did'nt suffer is "may i say " comforting to you in a strange sort of way.
I admire you Stormbay for your selflessness " i think thats the word" you spoke of the Helicoptor tradgedy and your thoughts for the families of the deceased of which i am also mindful and brings home how the treasures around us are not material but Family, friends and pets etc...................
Take care
Love and best wishes

Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.
If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance. And finally, be really nice to your family and friends; you never know
when, You might need them to empty your bedpan.0 -
Hi Stormy hope you are bearing up today. Thought I'd let you know that this afternoon on Radio 5 they are talking to Kate Boydell who was widowed in her 30's. She set up the Merry Widows website and has written a couple of books - I have read the first which was very good. I really like listening to her and you might too (although it could be way to soon). Hope you get this before it is on if not I think you can download shows and listen again - sorry someone techie would have to tell you how. Kindest wishes Dusty xThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
