I wonder - is there something of his you can keep with you/keep warm for his sake? Sorry if that sounds a bit odd, just thought there might be something in it.
Could you ring the place where he is and ask about seeing him? If you feel it would help you, you should do so. I really feel you should go with your heart on this one - I was talked out of seeing my brother after he died although I asked to, and really I felt it might have helped, though I accepted his death. If you feel you can't be assertive on this one, get a friend or your doctor to speak for you.
I think he would understand that you would be with him if you could.
Your children sound lovely - I am sure you are as much a help to them as they are to you.
Look after yourself - it may not be easy but it will help.

Yes, I think I will go and see him. I did see him afterwards as I was with him at the time and after the fantastic A & E people tried so hard to save him. He was brought into the side room I was in and I stayed with him for a while. I'm so glad I did. After New Year I can bring him closer to home and will see him again one last time.
I need to say, more to myself than anyone else really, but saying to you guys is like saying it out loud.................I LOVED him so much and will miss him so much it hurts..............
Another day almost survived, will carry on again tomorrow.

Stormy you are being so brave. I am so touched by you openning your beloved husband's presents. With regard to the tears they will come when you are ready. When my Dad died I cried at that moment and then not again for months, I was too sad to cry. With my kindest wishes for you are your dear children Dusty x
