I'm so sorry to hear your news. I know what it's like to lose someone you love so close to Christmas - although there is never exactly a good time to lose someone !
I'm thinking of you and your family today and please don't give yourself a hard time over whether you cry or grieve as others think you should - we all grieve in different ways and you need to do what is right for you. Try not to make any major decisions just yet and let people help when they offer.
Take care and huge hugs.
Moo xxI was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......0 -
Stormybay,
I just wanted to say how much I feel for you at such a time.
I'm 32, lost my dad, my FIL and my mum, all aged 56. Dad died suddenly of a brain haemerrage, FIL died of a brain tumour on New Years Eve 1999 (when all the fireworks were going off next door) and mum died (couldn't cope afer my dad died and took to drink) August 2002, the day I got my exam results, and 2 weeks before my wedding.
What can I say? When my FIL died I was more devastated than when my dad died. When my mum died, the wedding was all arranged and paid for (by hubby and mr) so we couldn't cancel. I was crying my eyes out about 9pm though!!!
You definitely havent given me a "downer" at Christmas. I just thank my stars that I have my hubby, my brother, and my sister. I'm really hoping next year might mean a baby as well but it'd a bit unlikrly.
All I can say is, take comfort in your kids and be around them as much as you can. I'm so sorry for your loss. Take care and let us know what's happrning if you can.FFW: Weight 06/01/07 11 st 6lbs 01/02/09 - 9st 6 lb
How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on... when in your heart, you begin to understand. There is no going back. There are some things that time cannot mend... some hurts that go too deep. That have taken hold.0 -
Thinking of you and praying for you at this awful time.

Be gentle with yourself stormybay - there is no right or wrong way to be feeling, and no right or wrong way to deal with the next few days and weeks. Just go with the flow and do what feels right for you and your children. You are in my thoughts.
With love,

Stormybay, I'm gutted for you and your children. I really am. There's no good time to lose your loved one but at this time of year, when everyone else is partying and overdosing on merriment, it seems even more sad and cruel. I'm so sorry there's no quick solution for the way you feel. It's a long process, and you are right to put things aside for reading later. Time alone can make this feel less raw. I keep you in my thoughts.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

Stormbay, special thoughts at a difficult time.
I'm putting a link to a site I found, particularly at this time of year.

along with everyone else, i had to send sympathys and hugs and love. Me and OH are going through an awful time at the moment but clinging on in there,, your post puts things a little clearer and into perspective. I wish I had a magic want that could make things better for you but I dont. xxxxxxx:EasterBun ...what more do I need to say?!

Oh my goodness, thank you all so much. Things are a little damp here, but have cooked the dinner as planned and even opened Hubbys presents, I couldn't leave them under the tree all alone. DD3 is wearing his 'world's best dad' socks........just so so sad.
It seems so stupid as all I can think about is where he is now. Somewhere cold. I can't bring him home as he died suddenly as we were driving so he was taken to a hospital miles from where we live and I can't see him due to there having to be an inquest etc......
It's all so sad.............but thank you for all your words of comfort, I'm so glad I have the children, they are keeping me busy.
