Thanks, you won't believe this but Im feeling quite low at present christmas come and went,

I have three children all grown up and working, not hard up by any means
and haven't had a fall out ,but there were no cards presents or visits ,no phone calls either, two even sent their presents back saying I don't want it thank you,
I even will run around and do what ever they want when they want, as I will help any one,
I felt as though I was the only person on the planet,is this the new age now?0 -
Snaggles - so sorry to hear about your gran. Can I recommend a book to you? It will be something your DS might find comfort from, and although it is for young children you DD might like it as well Stormybay! In fact, it is a wonderful book for anyone of whatever age who needs reminding that to have been loved or to have given love is really the most wonderful thing of all.... even if that person is no longer here.

It is a lovely book about how much parents love their children, no matter how grumpy they might be, and that love carries on forever even when we die. It is such a gentle story that gets the message across beautifully. The author/illustrator has also done another book called Always and Forever that is about friends who are very sad when Mr Fox dies, but then get together to rember him and the good times they had together. This is another book I strongly recommend for anyone who has lost someone close to them. Be warned however - you will need lots of tissues when you read them!:rotfl:
Clearvisor - sorry you are feeling so low, have a big hug from me.
Seroaxt - you have my admiration for being so strong. You must be so pleased wed is nearly here.

Thank you so much everyone, Work went ok I suppose and it gave my brain a little respite of all the awful things going on around me.
Seroxatchick - Good luck with the end of the chemo, it must be absolutely awful for you, you are so stong and I take encouragement from you, and everyone else here who have coped with such awful circumstances, but who carry on with humour and strength.
Snaggles, I'm so sorry about your Grandma, like me, I'm sure your happy memories will keep you going over the coming months and you'll also be a support to your Mum just like my children are to me. Lot's of love to you.
Clearvisor, I'm so sorry for how you are feeling, it must be dreadful, please keep on here, there are so many friends that you don't have time to be lonely!
I had to actually leave early from work as my DD3 has tonsillitis, I think it's because she has been run down with everything..........She is gutted as she is supposed to be going on a school camping trip on Wednesday and I don't know whether she should go. I've dosed her up with antibiotics and 6+ Calpol and I'll keep her warm in bed tomorrow with medicines and chicken soup (why do Mum's alway give chicken soup in these situations?). We'll see how she is on Wednesday.
Big hugs to everyone and to me!
Love Stormy

I just wanted to add my love to seroxatchick - here's very much hoping everything goes well for you.
And Snaggles, I was sorry to read about your Grandma. Is it some comfort that she had a good life and her family were there with her at the end? I hope so honey. Big hugs to you. xxxBank Balance: In the black for the moment.

I have just read this thread from start to finish and wanted to add my condolences and good wishes to all who have suffered loss but especially to you Stormybay, you are a credit to your family and John would be so proud of you.
Although I am a lurker more than a poster I just want to say how warm it feels to part of a group that can show such love and compassion. Collectively we could move mountains. If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got!
