I am also doing that...I promise to be more organised for xmas next year, which means that I am now going to make te future xmas cards from the cards that I have received this year (recycling them), making the most of the christmas sales for next years presents, andgenerally planning for next yeears xmas festivities....Although this year was not too bad but I could have been more organised.

  • Also, as well as being organised in the practical sense I am going to put my foot down and insist that myself, OH and our 4 kiddies stay at home for our Christmas lunch.

I thought that it would be easier to go to my parents for lunch, but all I had was scowls, dry undercooked food and rally driving on the TV !!!

That may sound selfish, but I got home, locked myself in a room and burst into tears, I have never spent the day with 2 such miserable people, dad said that after 64 he could gladly never celebrate Christmas again ! Even the kiddies asked when they could go home.

So for me I will ensure that the message that we are not going to their house on Christmas Day next year is said many, many times through the year.

  • I'm quite tempted to hit the sales tomorrow as it is DD2's birthday in 20 days so I should pick up some nice things at bargain prices

    Show off :rotfl:

Seriously tho then I think it's a great idea! Infact I still have £20 of vouchers for arcadia group shops from Pigs back and about £50-£60 of boots vouchers as well as about £10 on my boots card :)

So I'm luckily off to a head start in the Boots sales ;) I might also be naughty and spend the £20 on myself in the sales... well it's rare that I buy clothes and looking at the "selection" I could do with some :)

As for Ebay and so on then I think maybe setting up a seperate account especially for the 2007 christmas savings is a great idea :)

So... the Christmas 2007 savings club begins!!!!

I'm going to start a new thread and make it a sticky and everyone can do their own lists :)

Well I've started the Christmas 2007 savings thread for those who want to join in :)
I have a few pressies in the "box" already that I didn't use, but not totally sure who I'd give those to so I've been thinking off Ebaying them some time in Jan or Feb. Anyway the thread for the savings clubs is here

  • I would be up for that. I put away some money this year and managed to get some stuff through vouchers and so on, but could do a lot better!

  • I'm up for it. Seems like a good idea and I need challenges to motivate me. Will have to be super organised all year with this one so I think it would be good for me to join in.

    Thanks for the ideas.
