Just read the whole thread. So glad he is feeling a little better. Its heartbreaking to see them so poorly, my old boy is not so good do not no if he has days, weeks or months left. We take every day as a blessing.

Sorry if this is TMI but he's just had a normal poo which is normal coloured. This leads me to believe he still has a reasonable amount of liver function as otherwise it would be grey :)

TBH it's the kind of info we need:rotfl:

Zaksmum you are reading my mind, just come to update :)

We've been back to the vets this morning and they were amazed at the little dog that walked in under his own steam, tail wagging just 4 days after major surgery. It's amazing to see a dog they didn't think would survive the operation looking so perky!

No results back as yet, but his temperature is normal and his stitches are healing nicely. He's still fussy over what he is eating (I've never bought so much turkey in my life!) but I'm told that for now let him have what he wants when he wants it and we can sort out a special diet later down the line when we know exactly what we are dealing with. So far this morning he's managed a few sport biscuits and several slices of turkey. I'm going to Tesco in a moment to buy some Turkey legs, I'm going to try that with some veggies and mash. I'll try a bit of broccoli as well as it might help the anemia a little.

As we still need to keep on top of his skin condition he had a bath yesterday too and was fine with that. He is also now refusing to sleep upstairs with us and is back down with Bob. He's weeing and poo'ing normally and is reasonably active all things considered. Can't believe it, everyone really thought we'd lost him on Monday!

That's great news. :) Four days isn't long after such major surgery. Paws crossed that the results come back soon and it's something they can deal with.

    have a good weekend.

I'm just trying to work out things I can tempt him to eat.... I've read a little chicken soup is ok so will add that to the list. :D

I'm going to have a very fat Westie at the end of this because I can't feed one without the other :o

I think 5 would bankrupt me!!

This evening we have white fish poached in milk with a dash of turmeric and milk thistle, mashed potato, fresh carrots and broccoli with a smidgeon of parsley for taste.

    Me? Beans on toast....:o

Thats tomorrow's menu, brown rice with some steamed chicken, carrots and broccoli with a tablespoon of chicken soup to add a bit more flavour.

Pleased to report he wolfed this down and is now asleep :D
