You need to contact Gladstone Brookes, they should be chasing this not you,ask them what you are paying them for.

You should have had the letter of a goodwill gesture in june and you should have a final response by the 31st august.

I have had a pleasant surprise from Barclays over the last few days. On Friday, a payment was made into my account from Barclays PPI claims department of around £2,400 with no correspondence from them whatsoever. At first I was a little disappointed because I thought me PPI premium was around £4,500, so phoned them and was told a letter would be coming out to me.

Anyway, I got home from work yesterday and there was a letter from Barclays and an acceptance form for me to sign for them to pay me a figure of around £5,500 (the £4,500 premium + interest + some other payment from another small loan). I then phoned them to ask why I had been paid £2,400 and was told that was from a previous loan (which I hadn't claimed for incidentally) and when they received my acceptance form through, they would pay me the £5,500 and reduce my loan payments for the 12 months I have left.

I only started my claim at end of January this year, so I don't think they are doing it in date order, just trying to get them all through by the agreed dates.

    Well done :j:j:j
  • I had an interesting conversation with barclays last week. I had complained to the ceo and was called by someone in head office a few weeks ago. I was mainly complaining about the fact they had messed up the logging of my case. One was logged in November but the other 2 were missed even though they were listed by me at the time.
i had one loan which was paid off by another and then a third which paid the second off. All loans were not paid off.
The last loans ppi was refunded in Jan and the first was refunded in July.
I was told that they had not dealt with this in the best way and they would look into expediting the middle refund. I rang back to head office a week later and was told that they were no longer expediting any claims sent to the ceo re ppi.
Last week i was told that because my first loan and last were refunded first this now created a complicated calculation which was the reason for the delay. Spoke to them yesterday - there are calculations on the file but was told again it was complicated because they should have been dealt with together. Person I spoke to yesterday told me policies re ppi are changing constantly.

Didn't get round to it last night but here goes.

This is for loan which still has 12 months to run.

Refund of payments made for PPI £4,264.53
8% per annum simple interest £709.46
    Less any previous claim 0

    Refund due £4,973.99

As this loan was part used to pay off a previous loan, you are also entitled to the following additional refunds relating to the PPI policy connected to the previous loan

Overpayments made due to residual PPI £495.80
Additional 8% per annum simple interest £82.48

    Refund due £578.28

The above two refunds are added together and are what the acceptance form relates to.

I had a payment made into my account as mentioned on a previous post for an older loan and they broke it down as follows

    Original PPI premium £1,765.41
Interest accrued due to PPI £375.53
8% per annum simple interest £590.62
    Less any previous claim 0
    Less early settlement £313.52
Less any other previous refunds made 0

    Refund due £2,418.04

I know this is a long post, however hope it helps people :)
