Has anyone heard from Barclays since the gesture of goodwill letter?

Rang Barclays to speak to head office claims, i noticed some people were getting offer letters and some direct payments into their barclays account. I was told that they hoped to payout on the jr cases by 31 august. Bloke in head office said that he believed the more complicated cases involving current loans needed offer letter others like mine where the loan is paid off were being paid out straight away. Is this other people's experiences?

that would make sense in my case, although GB are doing this for me.

Should get a letter / offer next week, which is great as I'm booking to go to F1 in May ;-)

I've just posted on another thread that I had my claim rejected by Barclays today.
It was for credit card PPI and was submitted on the 2nd May. The reasons I gave for claiming were the same as a Halifax claim which was upheld last week.
The letter I received was standard and even had some of the facts wrong ( such as the card not being closed ).
I am wondering how many claims submitted after the end of April will be upheld.

I have an old cc card that was originally a Morgan Stanley card and now Barclays. I am expecting to hear from them by 6/9/11 but when I requested the SAR I noted that I had ticked the PPI box and the also send me copies of a leaflet about PPI so I am expecting that to be rejected - especially after reading yours!

What annoys me is that the letter I received rejecting the claim looks mass-produced. It states that the 'advisor' would have made me aware of PPI ( they did not, I applied by phone ) and there is no reference to my specific claim.
As I made my claim after the 'goodwill' gesture cut-off point on the 2nd of May, I am intrigued if this is just a 'standard' letter rejecting claims. I have another claim with Barclays for a 2nd Credit card, sent on the same date, but I have received nothing back yet.

Well if yours was due on 2nd September I should be hearing any day. Mine was a leaflet I filled in by the looks of it!!! I dont even remember ever filling it in. I will keep you posted when I hear.

just phoned barclays about my ppi still the same ,still looking in to it .told the lady on the phone it had to be done by the 1 sept .looks like am going to the fos .what a bank rubbish.

Hi I'm also one of the ones still waiting for any communication at all from barclays - had my letter in June stating I should hear by 31st. The only number I have gets me through to a call centre where I was told they couldn't see my loan and no amount of explaining that I didn't have a loan with them any more would sink in!! Does anyone have the number I should be calling. Many Thanks

Hi im also waiting on communication from Barclays had my goodwill letter in June saying they be an offer by 31st August ! Anyone got an email address for the CEO of Barclaycard ?

so if you don't hear by 1 Sept, is it worth giving FOS a call?
