Has anyone heard from Barclays since the gesture of goodwill letter?

Options
Has anyone heard from Barclays since they sent out the letters? or had a payment?
I rang customer relations and they told me they are working through the backlog. I had 3 ppi policies, they payed out on 1 in january but someone messed up and forgot to log the other 2. I was told it was clearly on the correspondence screen that the 3 policies are looked at but since they were not logged separately they will have to start from the date they were logged (jan).
I recieved the gesture of goodwill letters last month and when I enquired how the payments would be made they seemed unsure. One person said they needed more structure now so offer letters would be sent out and I would have to sign, another person told me they would probably credit into accounts (previously I recieved a credit into my account for the first ppi before they even sent the letter to tell me I was being refunded).
Just wondered what others peoples experiences were ?

We are still waiting for ours aswell. I phoned them and they said they would phone me back today. We will see.

Someone previously said they were aiming to send an offer within four weeks of the letter. So I have a few days yet before that's up. Others have said it could be anytime before the end of August.

I had a cheque and offer sent to me last Friday by Barclays.

I refered my case to FOS about two weeks after the JR put everything on hold in October last year.

You wont have to wait long now.

    That is good news!

I haven't even had the 1st letter yet!! I spoke to Barclays and they said it would be with me shortly, that was about 2 weeks ago. Spoke to the FOS and they didn't know anything new. Rubbish!

I understand from friends who work "Hazel Carr" (compliance outsource support) that Barclays are sending the letters in tranches depending on when your complaint was raised. My complaint was put on JR in October and I went straight to the ombudsman.

If Barclays are saying they will have all complaints paid by end of August, I would say everyone will have to recieve the initial letter by end of July. This will allow Barclays time to pay out by the end of August.

It might be worth leaving it another week and if you have not heard anything call Barclays again.

    Good luck

    The cheque and breakdown arrives at the same time. It details the following info;

    A) original PP Policy premium £xxx
    B) interest arrued due to PPi £xxx
    C) 8% per annum simple interest £xxx
    d) less early settlement £xxx
    e) less any previous successful claims (if applicable)
    f) total value = (A+B+C-D-E)

Surprisingly I have had another cheque from barclays today, only about £500 for a very small old policy sold in 1997 that I did not complain about! Thanks Barclays.

Ah! Just the forum I need to ask!

I have loan including PPI for unemployment with Barlcays which I was forced to take out when I took out the loan (June 2008)

Last September I lodged a claim with a PPI Company to claim back the PPI and costs etc and this is still ongoing.

However, in March this year i was made redundant due to Mr Cameron's bright ideas, and had to claim on the insurance.

I contacted said PPI Company and explained the situ.

Question is (as I'm not sure PPI Company know!)

    1. Is my claim for PPI still valid as i've had to claim on the insurance, or does claiming on the PPI for unemployment invalidate any PPI Claim.

2 If YES to No 1, Barclays will give me a new figure. Can I then go elsewhere and take out PPI if I so wish incase of unemployment in the future (i've just been offered employment at NMW so should be alright for now so will need to start repaying again)
