I had considered that and had my eye on a couple, but the final sale prices were in the region of £80 and given the time it would take to deliver it might make more sense to try and work with what we've got, although I'm not ruling it out.14 projects in 2014: 3/140

It's a Packard Bell Ixtreme 6052 (model: VOL-CO2)
Did you ever upgrade the RAM in this machine? Does it still only have a single RAM module of 256MB?
If and when faulty RAM is ruled out, here is an alternative graphics card and output. Another here. The £3.49 price is ok.0 -

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped me out with this. Through using a card reader I was able to get the files read and transcribed. My dissertation has now been submitted (fingers crossed I'll do well).
I couldn't have done it without your help, you certainly all averted a crisis.
I'm eternally grateful.14 projects in 2014: 3/140 -

Which version of XP is it, if you have the license key, are you likely to re-install or repair it if you have the windows software?
Do you know which service pack the XP installation had?0
