are the files stored on a card - if so, use a card reader.
cmos battery low is a watch battery that holds the time and bios settings
no signal on screen at any stage?

They are on a card but one of the older ones that does not fit into new laptops. Also they are .dss files so not sure if they would play without the dss player software.

Have you got the original software to install on the vista or windows 7 PC

Card readers are cheap. Expect under £5. What storage card is it? DSS player for Windows 7 is here0 -
If it installs on either of the other PC's then right click the icon, click properties, click compatibility0
