I was in tescos at about 12~it was total chaos:eek: The queues from the tills were at least 5 or 6 trolleys deep going waaaaay up all the aisles, shelves were emptying fast and people barging their way through. The car park was totally full and the queues to get in and out were miles long.
Will be going back in the early hours and fingers crossed it's quiet by then!

Went to Tesco this morning, it wasn't too bad but I kind of had enough about 2/3 of the way through. People were abandoning their trolleys and wandering around rather than taking it with them, so plenty of hold ups. Not to mention the people taking up the whole width of an aisle having a chat....

Anyway, managed to get it all done, which means I've finished for this year - I'm usually still running around like a mad thing on Christmas Eve....

I have finished my shopping today :j

Morrisons wasn't too bad at 8.45 when I arrived, but when I was leaving it was brginning to get frantic with queues for the carpark.

Also went on Wednesday morning and it was quiet. My theory being it was the last day of term and all the Mums and kids were at their end of term entertainments!

I shall brave Tesco tomorrow morning, but only as part of the local Brass Band dispensing some musical festive cheer! :xmassmile

    Happy Christmas

  • I went to Waitrose today and me and my mum had to queue to get in the car park for about ten minutes. We were in there for what felt like an age and didn't even have that much to buy. Queued for ages to pay, and then to get back out... thank god it's done now, I could do with a nap :o

Went this afternoon. 1pm is Tescos definately was not quiet. Dragged DP which he was most annoyed about as he never goes shopping but my back was really hurting. Anyway he push while I filled, and then just before I was finished I sent him to wait in the queue (5 people long + on each till) and just kept bringing items back. He then understood why he had to go with me. Worked much better but the headache I have from his moaning is only just worth it. He kept commenting that he was suprised he got out alive.

Did go into town but DP knew about a new car park which it seems very few others did and ours was one of about 20 cars max in the new huge multi storey. Saved waiting in the queue to get parked.

Downside is optician in Tescos shouted me over to say my sons glasses arrived this morning so I have to battle the traffic to take him to get them fitted tomorrow :( Drats!
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Spent ages sat waiting on a bus in Hackney this afternoon as cars were blocking the roundabout trying to get to sainsburys...would have been quicker to walk but it is a bit cold!
I wandered into Morrisons a couple of hours ago to pick up a few bits, pretty busy but managed to get my stuff and leave unscathed. :)
  • Mum & I plan to do the food shopping we need tomorrow - we haven't got anything booked for the whole day and intend to take our senses of humour with us. If we're lucky we might make it home in time for Christmas. ;)

  • Do you know that you can fast track your queing? I don't do any panic buying before. Anyway, if you have less than 10/15 items with nothing to weigh ie : loose grapes/sprouts/mushroom etc and if the less than 10 item or basket only counter are full of ppl queing why don't you just go to the customer service counter they will scan the goods. Not many ppl know that though.....
