supermarket shop mayhem

I went to my local asda this morning at 8am for when they opened. There was about 200 people waiting for it to open (some ppl had been sitting in their cars since 6!!!) Anyway the doors open, well i have never seen anything like it. Ppl where running to the fruit and veg section as if their life depended on it. Trolleys where being flung, veg being fought over it was mad. I actually only went in for veg and salad myself as i have been organised this year, but i just walked away from the store. Will go back at midnight instead me thinks!!!!!!!!!!

  • went in asda last night about 8 - 9.30. It was chaos, everyone had trolleyfulls of food and even though all the checkouts were open there were still big long queues. Maybe everyone will have finished their shopping by Sunday and the shops will be empty then.

I can't believe how quiet is is around here, we have 3 supermarkets locally 2 x Tesco and 1 x asda, last night at around 9pm there were about 20 people in the bigger Tesco store and most of the checkout ops were twiddling their thumbs.

In 25 years of doing Christmas shopping as never been as easy as this year, I only need bread and then I'm sorted.

I went to Mr Ts yesterday, and considering the time of year, found it really quiet. i dread to think what its like today, but ive got my fresh stuff now, so i dont mind!!!! Will be going over again on xmas eve tho, to see if they have any reduced bargains, but ive always found xmas eve to be quiet, im just not brave enough to wait until then to do my food shop, the year i do is the year they will have sold out of what i want!!!!

I'm working in a supermarket at the moment and up until Wed staff were sat there twiddling their thumbs, but I worked last night and was very busy, I dread to think how it will be on the weekend.

My MIL went to Sainsburys at 8.00am on Wedensday and there was only her and the shop staff in there! Thankfully we're going away to family this year, so don't need to do a shop, but if I had I'd gladly pay £5 to have them deliver to me - let someone else fight around the aisles!!

Good Luck and get your elbows sharpened if you are off to the shops!

Well I'm having Christmas dinner alone this year so I'm going to go on Sunday lunch time, pick up whatever looks nice and is a bargain and cook myself a lovely meal without having a shed collapse because there are no sprouts to be had :D

  • Another warning is many are not aware or taken on board its normal sunday trading hours on xmas eve so imagine what would normally be 12 hours or so of shopping hell is going to crammed into 6 hours of shopping hell.
