Gotta be worth a try and even if I only save 10p I'd rather have it in my account than give it to those robbing b*st*rds N*shower of sh*te  (will probably have a secondary advantage in that all this running around opening and closing blinds will build a sweat on and I wont feel the cold anyway :D)

    *rant over* (for now )

I find all your attempts not to put heating on quite admirable but I'm not so sure it's good for you. I have a temperature chart given out by my local council.

    21 - is just right
    18 - ideal for bedroom
    15 - cool - with a risk of infection
    12 - TOO COLD
    9 - danger of hypothermia

I think it's all relative retired, everyones different and I know that these temperature settings are recommended by Age UK also ~ however I am youngish (mmmmm a bit less than -ish actually :o), enjoy good health and am out at work for much of the day(s) so figure I can afford to operate at a cooler temp for now. Also it's not been that cold yet where I live and that obviously makes a big difference

Anyways ~ PaD of £6.26 from me today please skaps towards savings pots

I had the same problem with my lodger (when I had one, I'm blissfully free of her now so skinter but happy :)) but when I said I might have to increase her rent if the bills went up she got less central heating happy ;) That being said, I did bite my tongue most of the time as I figured that her rent was helping to pay for my heating bill.

Mr Fresian doesn't pay rent, so he has to sit and shiver with me :D

I want to say that to my housemate!! She will be paying the bill if it comes in way over one month from leaving the lights and heating on!!

The clothing and book collection man came today so and extra bumper PAD of £24.25 to MBNA.:D

I also won £20 on a £2 scratch card:T. This is something i very rarely buy, probably 2-3 cards a year and don't play the lottery, but today it just seemed right. I looked at the display on the counter and one of them really stood out, i don't know why and it's sounds a bit freaky but I knew i had to get one. Glad I did anyway, I'll be using this towards next weeks shopping so I can make extra PAD's.

Another £544.72 left to pay on MBNA and it starts incurring god knows how much interest on the 11th of next month. I have lost my job this week, however they pay me 2 months behind so i still get a wage in November and December but that's where it stops. In a bit of a pickle! So I am desperately trying to pay off as much of my £1685.29 total before Christmas as I can.

At the moment i have gone back to doing,
    - some surveys
    - Trying to do mystery shopping again however I don't drive and live in a smallish town so a bit limited
    - Filling in competitions like a woman possessed from the competitions thread.
    - Cutting down on all household budgets.
    - Making some Christmas presents, scouring charity shops for other new gifts.
    - Ebaying anything that isn't nailed down and used really regularly
    - selling books and clothes for recycle (today)
    - Sending off for freebies and samples

Any other suggestions would be very welcome!

Sorry for the really long post and it's probably not the right place to ask but this thread seems so friendly and helpful.

    Thanks in advance Lou x

Wow Lou, did you get all of that from the clothing and book collection man? I've started to gather up all the bits and pieces of clothing that won't sell on ebay and so far have about 4kg worth but I'm sure I can find more.

Currently trying to get the energy together to list a few things on ebay. They're all together in a box so you'd think it should be easy but they're all things I've put off listing before cos they're awkward to photograph....no excuses though, they will be listed by the end of the day!

It's the weekend but the PADding continues - £1.23 from me please :)

£14.04 for me today - it seems that Halifax/BoS will finally let you make loan payments online, but I need to call them and check that the money has been received or my £14 may be floating around cyberspace somewhere
