We're popping to Mr T's today as we need to stock up on some food, and I'm hoping that we'll manage to put up our christmas decorations! :D

Hello everyone, I haven't posted for aaaages so my apologies.

I just wanted to say that I've seen some fab decorations to make for xmas with old newspapers on youtube. If you tap in paper wreaths there are some really lovely ones, I also made a xmas tree out of an old magazine for my desk in work which was another idea from there.

The other office tree I decorated with labels I made from used brown enevelopes. Open them up and use the fresh inside, I tore them to label sized pieces using the edge of a ruler and printed off a christmas saying putting a sentence on each label eg 'I saw three ships come sailing in on Christmas day' and the next would be 'on Christmas day' etc. I tied them to the tree using elastic bands so they didn't cost anything and they look fab.

Christmas doesn't have to cost much if you use a bit of imagination.

Anyway hope you are all doing OK hugs to you all xx

    Hi everyone
We had a fab time on Friday night, brownies went down well and I got absolutely trollied and did Karaoke until 1:30 am!!!
Then woke up to devestating news the next day, one of the families just outside the village had had a house fire and their 3 year old daughter hadn't got out. It's absolutely horrendous, she went to pre-school with my son, everyone is at a loss what to do. Their house literally burnt to the ground so a few of us collected clothes, wash stuff etc together and took it to where they're staying but what do you say? I didn't say anything just gave them massive hugs and my phone number and said if they need anything to call. We're having a get together to see what we can do tomorrow morning, going to do a collection. When things like this happen it puts things into perspective.

Aw nat that's terrible. That poor family, not only for this xmas but for all xmases to come as well.

Sometimes actions speak louder than words, you did the right thing.

  • Hi all, just popped in to give a wave to newbies, Happy Birthday wishes to all who've had recent birthdays, and a big hug to NatNat. The news in your village puts everything in perspective, doesn't it.

After much negotiation, it was agreed DD could come home today for an hour. DGD was very wary, but DD wasn't over-pushy with her, and asked if she could give DGD a hug, it broke my heart, as I was worried DGD might say no. We were all on edge, wondering if DD would lose it, or perhaps try to push things but it worked out OK.

She asked if she could come home again next Sunday, and I suggested she stays a bit longer at home, perhaps for lunch, but we'll "see how things go". Then the week after it's Christmas, and perhaps we can suggest she comes for 4 or 5 hours then.

She is on so much medication though, I'm worried that if she is weaned off it too soon, that things will go belly-up. Then to add to all this, DH has had quite a set-back this week, memory-wise, and physically, and seems to have gone really down hill.

I just pray I can find the strength to get through all this, and hold everything together. Thank goodness for good friends, like all my cyber mates on here.

    xx
