    Hello fellow frugallers:j:j
Welcome newbies- looking forward to getting to know you all:D Just jump right in!

No major news here at GBT except have been topping up with cards [not Christmas cards] at The Works as they do 9 in a box [3 designs and blank] for £1.99 and get another one free. That should save me a pretty penny on birthday cards in 2012.

Finally made the curried lentil pasties tonight- my chaps initially rolled their eyes at the very mention of lentils but have to say they were very tasty and thrifty:D

Actually not spending a great deal [well it's all relative :rotfl:] as avoid the shops like the plague this time of year. Have bought all the gifts as can't bear the hustle and bustle of it all. Had a lovely time looking at the Christmas display in a local garden centre today but wasn't tempted and tomorrow am off a walk and to have lunch with another friend. Have a bag of bits to lend her- we always call it our lending library as everytime we meet we swap DVDS, books, mags and she gives me wine her hubby wins in raffles as they don't drink. It's great fun!

That was funny about the murder mystery weekend Paidin.

I have been quite spendy as been doing Christmas shopping.

Had a physio assessment today was pulled about and pushed on - very painful and it transpires I have something wrong with my pelvis as well as the osteoarthritis.

  • had a lovely day, my son's dad took him to the zoo so I had a day off, went to see a cheap drop in homeopath about not sleeping and got a free massage in the same place which was perfect. Feeling sad and lonely now though, been single so long I can't imagine otherwise.
my phone is at the menders so I'm feeling a bit isolated.

Hope you feel brighter soon Tumpty.

I'm a upset I bought a bottle of Amaretto in a tin from John Lewis as a pressie last night and I have managed to lose it.

Usually get it from a local shop where it is cheapest but I thought I would go up market and get it in the tin.

I forgot to tell you though that in the week I got a phone call from the Lido to say someone had found my purse.

I must have dropped it on the way home from my friends wake - they rang the Lido as my swim pass was in it.

Anyway I bought them a voucher as a thank you for returning it to me.

Had a lovely swim today which cheered me up although getting changed before hand was very brrr!

Big hugz Tumpty. I bet the massage was lovely. Hope the sleeping remedy works. Visualising yourself enveloped in these colours in this order may help, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and purple. They are the chakra colours and before I've got to purple I'm usually asleep.

Ruby I bet they were thrilled to bits to receive the voucher. One good turn deserves another :):)
Will the ameretto turn up or have you lost it whilst you were shopping? Aw hope it turns up. Just annoying isn't it?

I was sympathising with purple earlier on her having to payout for computer repairs and lo and behold just had to pay £49 at pc world today for a new charger. It had been crackling on us which wasn't very safe and then it gave up the ghost!
Had a bit of a spendy day today. Bought OH a duffel coat, have been promising him one for about 3 years so got one today from bhs, for his Christmas pressie when we went out.
    Ooh it's chilly now...
    Warm hugs

I did put my bags down on quite a few occasions Dizzy but was careful to check I had them all.

Last port of call was the offy for some cat litter but they didn't have it.

I rang M and S and they had a John Lewis bag but no Amaretto but I'm going to ring them again incase it's got my other bits and bobs.

I've just put my hampers together and they look really good although I was not happy about having to sand one or two of them! Good job I had sandpaper left over from sanding the floors!

I've had to buy two chargers lately although I got one from Amazon so it wasn't too bad.

The one from Apple is so fast too.

Hope you are feeling well x

  • Hiya Ruby. I love homemade hampers. It shows how much thought someone has put into it.
I'm not too bad thanks. Hope you're feeling ok. I meant to mention your post re the osteo and pelvis. Ooh sounds painful. The swimming must help to ease it.
Just waiting for DD to come in then I'm off to bed.

That's my little Marmalade Dizzy aka Minky wrapped up in Christmas paper last year.
