How lovely to see the police budget being used to evict people from their homes
I know a few policemen and they are always under staffed and pushed to the limits. Ordinary folk who are getting robbed, beaten, burgled etc can't even get the police to come out. Maybe we should start building without planning permission.
How much is this costing??
I know there are two sides to this story but what a huge amount of money this is costing.

In front of a very long line of huffing and puffing shoppers :mad::mad:
"Yes I can pay for my shopping it is your machine playing up!!!!" to which he reset the till and it accepted my card.......no appology, nothing. I told the lady at the till how unhappy I was with being asked if I could pay for my shopping and felt poorly treated, her reply was "well all the young ones are like that!!"
Ohhhhh PIC I wouldn't have been happy about that either ..... def worth a letter of complaint - there's no excuse for being treated like that!seriouslyfrugal wrote: »anyway I got my own back as i hadn't paid at this time so before handing over the cash I packed my bag taking my time - mean while she was still standing there looking more exasperated I handed over the cash got the receipt and left the store
I often find that (it takes me a while to pack my bags as I've got a really bad back) - I can keep up if they go at a "sensible" rate (and by no means am I very slow) but some of them scan the stuff and literally fling it down the packing area. I've now "learnt" to just keep packing it up at my own pace and make them sit and wait until I've finished;)
Foot progressing a bit slower than I'd like, just been signed off for another 4 weeks but really want to get back to work before that's up so fingers crossed.
Aril good luck with the interviews, Natnat congratulations on the work, Blairweech hope kittie is recovering, Spiral look forward to seeing you on the Preparing for Winter thread (I've learnt loads and am much more prepared than I've ever been - despite being housebound for the past few weeks!)....

I know I feel the same You would think that the cost of it police, courts etc it would be cheaper just to let them stay there after all where are they going to go - I thought councils were suposed to be cutting back these days although its amazing how they seam to have found the money for this it also make me think what are thier motives behind this ! I do realise that there are 2 sides to the story but my understanding is that they have been there years so why is it happening now
Feeling a bit better although I'm not 100% just yet
It is so cold here in hampshire that I have resulted to putting the heating on according to the energy monitor we have its 14c but it doesn't feel it and the front of the car had frost on it this morning
I will probably put the oven on later so I think I will make lemon drizzle cake :T just feel like somthing nice
Emma :hello:0 -
heating not on yet, but I am working with a hot water bottle behind my back and a blanket in easy reach.
weight has creeped back again so I'm going to focus on that for the moment, just until I can fit my thermals on under my jeans :-)0 -
Brrrrrr just ventured outside to put some washing out and it's clawed it's way up to ..... 5 deg:eek: - it's bloomin' freezing out there (not helped by the very cold wind that's howling around).
I think I may be being a bit optimistic that the washing will dry (towels) but hopefully the wind will take the worst of the wet off - I think they'll need to come inside to be defrosted later tho'
I do like the idea of "having" to cook something as an excuse to put the oven on. I've given in and put the heating on for a wee while as it's only 12 deg in the lounge and I'm frozen:(. Good chance to make sure it's working properly!;)

hi everyone,
rising - thought that was you over on Preparing 4 Winter. Useful stuff. i'm scarrily underprepared. but do now have a list! (sorry if i bore you as some stuff is relevant on both forums i might repost bits) i really do recomend everyone else go take a look if you havnt before... its preparing in a very frugal sense for most people and some fab ideas as well as practical reminders ect...
had a happy shopping trip to home bargains today... i managed to bag the 5.99 (rrp 39.99) weather centres, mentioned on the BH grabbit thread. so will use the remote censor to tell us the outside temp, or poss even the shed! my OH has taken quite a delight in reporting the temp from a simple bit of kit i have, so he will like this one. and as its a clock too its double useful as i only have one. also got one for dad for his main xmas prezzy, i'm sure he'll use it as we're both quite geeky!
my sore tummy is still sore. but i am at work. it's meant i've been very frugal at least, as i coudnt face dinner last night, and have only had a little porridge today.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Afternoon All,
I know I've not been on here for ages, busy car booting with my Dad and working myself into the ground.
I've been lucky enough to live off what I've made at car boot for the season. My mates have been brilliant donating stuff for me to sell. What would we do without them?!
My salary cut has hit me and I'm skint until at least January. Going to have to car boot all through winter but my Dad doesn't fancy it much.
It's my 40th birthday in a couple of weeks too.
Getting over some nasty bugs and feeling weak.
Hope all of you are getting your layers of clothing ready, frost due tonight.
Here's to a frugal, but not going without, run up to christmas.

As long as they don't look like ours did rising when OH hung ours out. They could almost stand up on their own! I like fluffly towels but he likes them rough enough to give us an exfoliation23rdspiral wrote: »my sore tummy is still sore. but i am at work. it's meant i've been very frugal at least, as i coudnt face dinner last night, and have only had a little porridge today.
Aw spiral hope you're feeling better soon. Lots of our pupils are going down like nine pins with this bug.
