Hi
P.I.C. I would write either to the store manager or head office personally
talking of poor customer service : I was in Mr T and had paid for my few items for which I had given the assistant my cloth bag she scanned the items and just stood there now it was pretty obvious I had a problem with my left hand as I had my splint on no help what so ever she expected me to pack my own items :mad::mad: anyway I got my own back as i hadn't paid at this time so before handing over the cash I packed my bag taking my time - mean while she was still standing there looking more exasperated I handed over the cash got the receipt and left the store :T It should be said through that on the whole I find people helpful to me - when I need it
Feeling down today so trying to do things a stage at a time but its really hard I had to go into the local town today so at least I managed to get out of the house for an hour.
Its going to get colder over the next couple of days so may need to put the heating on  - but still not on just yet
I hope everyone is okEmma :hello:0 -
P.I.C, complain, complain, complain!!! That is disgusting!
Seriouslyfrugal, I hope getting out made u feel a bit better, it's hard when you're down.
I help run (on the committee) my son's pre-school and we have "issues" at the moment between a parent and a staff member, the parent being a friend of mine, I won't go into details but it's all been blown way out of proportion and is making a horrible atmosphere in the pre-school. There is a meeting tomorrow about it all so hopefully things will get better. I do wonder sometimes why I get myself involved in these things but I care about the pre-school.
On the up side, I got offered some work today :jIt's as a viewing assistant for an estate agents I used to work for, very ad hoc, just when they need key accompanied viewings near where I live but I get paid and mileage so as Mr T's say "every little helps!"
Got oil delivery and now the boiler won't work, luckily DH is very handy so we have ordered a part and hopefully he can fix it (it's oil not gas). We're meant to be having a cold front come in next week so I think the heating will finally have to go on if we get it working!
Paid my massive CC bill just and have a bit of money left in the bank this month which I'm pleased about
Hope everyone has a good week xMum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

PIC - definitely complain, there is no need for rudeness like that, especially from a supervisor.
Seriously - Your story about making the assistant wait made me laughServes her right!
Natnat - Congrats on being offered some work
Well, my cat has had most of his teeth taken out - cost £265 as they have had to put wire and pins in his jaw. Hope he will be more comfortable now and start eating properly again - my brother did send me a pic of him and he looks like hes feeling better already (can't find my lead to upload it off my phone though). And the blood tests they did to make sure he was going to be ok for the anaesthetic came back alright, so that means all his essential areas are working properly! :j
Went and bought yet more bits for my car yesterday - new wiper blades, door protectors and a seatbelt pad. Was overcharged by 49p...and I went back and got it refunded :rotfl:(when I say went back, I was only outside the building when I checked my receipt so did not have to make that much effort!)
Going out for a beverage tonight, but I won't be drinking as I'm driving. Will just be nice to socialiseWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Awe paid in, feel your anger. Had the same at a tescos petrol station... Card had been fine 10before In the shop. They were so rude that I didn't just carry 35quid cash! In the end they got the machine to work. So irritating and upsetting, making me feel I was doing something wrong!
I've joined the Prep for Winter thread, after reading for a while. So many good tips, ESP as I've not had a winter I this house before... Hadn't even thought to lag the outside taps!
Had a good frugal day today. Batch cooked cottage pie filling, mince and macaroni and cassulet - all from same veg and pulse base. And stewed apples for crumble filling, and made apple juice, and now have apple and cinnamon jelly dripping away nicely. Am totally shattered!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. Evening all. I know its been ages since I last posted, and dont have any excuse. Was away at the weekend - a friend and DH had a birthday so we went for a meal to celebrate. Oh dear............ been ill since and a day off work today. At least it wasnt alcohol abuse that caused it! Good old Mr T had to refund me some DTD the other day as some reduced organic peppers I had bought had been put through wrongly at full price. yippee. Loads of whoopsies again - they change their stance locally as soon as they change staff, so its wise to keep going in. Having my gorgeous 3 x DGS for half term from Sunday. Cant wait. They have put in their orders for activities and meals. Most I can achieve frugally (they arent exactly cordon bleu material!) so that will offset the cost of going to collect them from Yorkshire. Hope everyone is happy x0

Hi Guys,
We recently moved into our new home and was wondering how much everyone else is spending on Gas & Electricty. I have for the last 2 months taken meter readings every week and we are using approx £2.70 per day for gas & electricty, fixed our tariff with E-On to avoid the recent increases. During this time we have only put the heating on twice. We are in a 4 bedroom house with 2 adults and 2 teenagers.
I'm wondering that when our fixed tarif runs out in June 2012 how much we will end up paying........apology if I am covering old ground.:jNSD 12, SAVING ALL MY CHANGE FOR HOLIDAY SPENDS - SO FAR £23.96:j0 -
Paidinchix I would definately ring up head office to complain. What really annoys me about poor customer service is there are literally as we sadly know people who are desperate for jobs. People should realise how lucky they are. Of course customers can be rude and that's different, no one should have to put up with that but when it's unjustified it's not in!
Hugs to you seriously frugal. Hope you feel more upbeat soon.
Natnat well done on the job offer
and lots of good luck to you too Aril and thanks for the great tips with wd40
23rdspiral you've made me want apple crumble now mmmmm
and hello again landregistrylass.
Still taking antibiotics for my chest but it's helping. And only another two days and I've made it to half term with no time off :j
Have decided to try and cut sugar from my diet. I have far too much of it. Have stocked up on healthy nuts and dark green veggies and hopefully I'll be feeling tip top.
Warm hugs to everyone and a tickle on the tum for Blairweechs' cat, Aw Bless. Brave little thing.

Evening, I have been very frugal the past couple of days, mainly because my bank card became 'unreadable' so I haven't been able to get any cash to buy anything. USually I could get my DH to take some money out for me but he's away on holiday with our two eldest kids so no luck there!
have down loaded the CW18's frugal challenge spreadsheet and looked though to see how it works. I'm assuming that if you want to add in extra categories, you just insert cells - rows and the formulas follow down automatically? Can someone tell me if that's correct - I don't know whether CW still posts on the thread? In anycase, I shall be trying to get some figures for the coming year, my big problem is the utility bills as we have only paid an estimate so far (we moved house last year) and I'm not sure how accurate it is. Perhaps I can get an interim bill or reading from the electricity company.Trying to keep in budget.

We have two adults and three children and probably pay the same as this but we had solar panels fitted in March and we are unsure how much this will lower our bills over the year. Hopefully it will go down quite a bit. We have only had the heating on to test its working so far this year.
Crikey bob its freeeeeeeezing this morning!!!0
