Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.

I'm ok thanks. Just a bit worried that something OH did whilst drunk may come back and bite us. Legally and friendship wise it might, even if not morally. Just hoping it will simply be swept under the carpet. I don't do well with worry, it spins me round and I can't see what else I need to be doing.

  • Truly awful day, decided to take the cat to the vets, booked it for the earliest which was 12, got the cat in the car, after throwing out all her stuff so it wouldn't be too bad when we got back and the car wouldn't start. Vets said they could only see her before 12.30 then the vet was in surgery. Mechanic came to jump my car as quick as he could but we didn't make 12.30 so she is still alive. I've just got back from driving the car and wasting petrol to get it to charge up again.
I get my son in an hour and I can't put him through it, I can't face phoning to find another vet so I'll take her tomorrow, if she is still alive.
never ever again am I getting a pet.

I really feel for you as I know how heartbreaking it is xx
  • Spiral I hope things sort themselves out. I don't do well with worry either. DH keeps busy to take his mind off things I struggle to do anything but sit and worry about it. We are all wired differently but I envy those who can still get to sleep at night.

    Look after yourself x
  • Tumpty (((hugs))) that's awful.

Spiral hope things turn out OK....

Thanks... I'm still all worried but have been slightly reassured. Sorry to sound so vague, wouldn't want to say anything that might come back and bite us. It really isn't anything terrible I promise. Why do men get all matcho when drunk?!?! Sigh.

Certainly compared to Tumpty my troubles are very small. *hugs*

Hope everything works out Spiral and trumpty it sounds like you've had a nightmare day, you poor thing, pets pull at your heart strings just as much as children. Ruby, you make me tired just reading your post, is your son a model?

I did my first voluntary morning at school, I read with all the little ones, it was really nice. So I'm going back again next week and we'll see what happens.

I also had a lovely package arrive today, my gran who lives hours away from me so I hardly ever see her sent me a Monsoon top and £100!!!! I actually feel really bad as I was moaning on to her the other day about money, and she's obviously taken pity on me, but that was not the reason I was moaning at her. I do know that if she couldn't afford it she wouldn't have sent it and the top came from the charity shop (and is 2 sizes 2 big but she did write a note saying ebay it if it doesn't fit, I didn't even know she knew what ebay was!!!) I am very grateful as we have just ordered 1000 litres of oil so a MASSIVE william will be coming!
