Tumpty, I'm soo sorry to hear of ur cat, but atleast she got to go where she was most happy, at home with you and your son. Not much more any of us would ask for xxx big hugs xxx

Blairweech, made us laugh too. I don't think it will b an issue, as he really likes him, keeps asking to go to his house, or asks me to fone him to see if he wants to come to the park, beach etc, with us. But I'm taking it really slow anyways. If he decides that for any reason he doesn't like him, then it won't be a long relationship, but for now, all is good :)

Silly insomnia is back :( and now we are late for nursery!
I fell asleep in the car yesterday! Thankfully I was in a car park, very busy one too, but I just couldn't keep my eyes open any longer lol.
As soon as these eggs for sons lunch are ready, drop him off then I'm coming home to hopefully sleep a bit.

    Catch u all later
P.s. happy birthday and happy belated birthday to all that I've missed recently x

big hugs tumpty, sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved puss.
    can i join please.
started stocking up on the super cheapo bits i like in work and when i go shopping next week for when to cold weather evenually hits.
really having to knuckle down on bieng less wastefull of my money as i tend to spend my food money carelessly on crap that i eat in no time. the same seems to be the same with the other bits i budget for too and it doesnt seem to help that ive family who doesnt have a clue, are in debt and seem bent on trying to sabotage it all.
i guess if i keep trying i will get their?

Not much to report today, made more cheese scones, an apple crumble and a lasagne.

    That's about it!

Lola your weekend sounds lovely and I'm sure your son will settle down, I suppose he's just getting used to sharing his mummy. I'm glad things are going well though

Have you complained yet? I complained last time we lost broadband for an afternoon and got a £15 credit to our account :D :money:

Ooh yes flying. Have phoned them each time it went off and the last time I rang he said he'd knock something off next months bill, don't know how much though. OH phoned up when it happened again and he said to the advisor (?) so the only option is to go with sky? And the reply was...well that's your choice! Ah well we'll see if it happens again. Then decide what to do.

Sandra I was so sorry to read your post. I hope your DD is okay.
I'm sure a virtual glass of wine should be okay for you so pour yourself a large one...30.gif

Tumpty huge hugs for you. I'm sure home was the best place for her to fall 'asleep'

Going to have a bit of a paper declutter in the living room. Some hotspots of paper piles have grown and most of its junk mail.
I feel unsettled today but can't put my finger on why...
Hope everyone is keeping warm and dry in these raindrops and gales.

Hello fellow frugallers and all newbies- jump right in!
    Hugs to Sandra and Tumpty.

An up and down day here today at GBT but greatly improved by my spontaneous decision to make apple crumble tonight...always cheers me up and was made from free apples too! Popped into the town today and met the lady from the volunteer bureau...she seems to have several local options for me which I shall look into tomorrow. She's also said she'd pass on details of any paid positions she gets in aswell and said that quite often volunteers pick up paid work once they're known within a charity. Afterwards I pootled over to a booksale our local league of friends was holding at the hospital- picked up 3 paperbacks in vgc for a pound and have added them to the Christmas stash.

Am still decluttering our attic- I'm not a hoarder but it's amazing what's coming out of there:rotfl:Some frugal fun lined up with some shredding tomorrow methinks:rotfl:

  • Alas things have gone from bad to worse. Saw the Mental Health Team Doctor, at the clinic this morning, who kept us waiting 3 hours. She said it is only the "team" who can advise hospitalisation, not her as an individual. I just don't buy that.

She said The Team were elsewhere and would be along within 2 hours. We said we'd go home, rather than hang around at the clinic any longer, as DD was so agitated. Naturally, 2 hours later they hadn't arrived, so I phoned to be told they'd be a further 2 hours. All the time DD was deteriorating. When they came they stayed about 20 minutes, and said they'd come again tomorrow, but agreed it best if DGD stayed with me tonight.

Off the team went, then off DGD and I went, we got home and half an hour later SIL phoned to say DD was being taken to hospital with a police escort, as she'd grabbed a knife and cut her arms. He phoned The Team who said everything was set up at hospital and another ambulance would take her from there to a mental health hospital.

He's just contacted me, 4 hours later, to say she's now finally been transported. My lovely SIL is absolutely shattered, and I can't take much more. DH is in a state, I'm keeping the bulk of things from DGD, but she's seen this so many times before.

Off to have yet another coffee. Won't be on the thread for a while. I'm so sorry for your loss tumpty.

    xx
