So sorry to hear that Sandra!

Hope your daughter gets stabilised soon and doesn't need to be hospitalised for too long.xxx
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.

Dizzy I was feeling what I describe as 'scratchy' and now have found out it's because it's 'women's hour!'

Girlie is still enjoying her birthday with a noisy group of friends - hope they won't be noisy all night!

Cake was good if not a bit lopsided but that was hidden with chocolate!

Haven't tried the poppy seed one yet.

Hee hee Yep same here Ruby I now realise. The decorators haven't quite started work but they are setting up if you get my drift :D
The poppy seed cake sounds unusual, I bet it's nice.

Ok I'm going to attempt an ode to the wonderful Sandra. Always there with a kind word and poem for us so here goes..

Sandra you're always there with full support
a friendly word and a sympathetic retort
A friend of ours in cyberspace
We think you are just blimming ace.
I'm sure if kind thoughts made wishes come true
You'd be on that coach and doing what you do.
But just for now your family need your care
And you know that you need to be there.
And when days are dark and you shed a tear
just pop on a post and we'll be here.

  • Ohh Sandra, what a hideous time for your family (((hugs)))) to all. I've been through something similar on several occasions with my best pal (she's bipolar) and trying to get help before "anything happens" is like banging your head against a wall.

Glad she's safe now and getting the help she needs to get better.

Dizzy wonderful ode, sums up how we all feel about Sandra

Oh Sandra that's awful and disgusting that your daughter had to physically hurt herself before anything was done. I used to work as a Mental Health Support Worker and luckily where we were GPs would come and assess and arrange everything, obviously they knew the patient and history etc. I don't know what to say really, I hope she is stabilsed and better soon, stay strong for your DGD and feel free to rant at all of us any time x

Cars gone in for its Mot. Had to have the track rod ends done (whatever they are) before we even took it. Will know what the bill is soon...
Did lots of cleaning and hoovering last night. No idea where the energy came from but glad it did!
Think I'll make a vegan shepherds pie for tea with peas and beetroot, it's comfort food weather now isn't it?
But not making it till I've watched Bargain Hunt :)
Hope everyone is warm and safe.

Dizzy : the poem was lovely

slow cooker on for the 3rd time this week - curry tonight went out healthwalk leading this morning and you couldn't get too more differing weeks (last friday & this one)

popped into the library afterwards they are doing a public consultation it is poposed that the library in the local town will close on mondays as of september 2012 at the moment they do 50.5 hours a week so it would go down to 42 hours a week but at least they are not looking at closing it compleatly although I feel that some of the smaller libraries may close unless they can be taken over by volunteers apparently they need to save £450,000 due to buget cuts
for the year 2012/13 - so we'll see

    have a good day everyone
    Emma :hello:
