I have been keeping a spend diary since 2009 I find it really helpful & i'm sure it will work for you if anything it does make you realise just what you spend on what items - in a good way
I decided not to go out today after all so it will be a NSD for me
I also recieved my certificate for my O.U. course so i'm now the proud owner of a higher education certificate in social science :j:j:j

Thankyou for this, will try it out
Seriously Frugal - Congrats on getting your qualification :j
Have just purchased 'Low Cost Living' for the princely sum of £1.98 :rotfl:. Reviews say its good so hope it teaches me something new. Made quince jelly as well, which has turned out the most gorgeous ruby colour and tastes like turkish delight nom nom nom. Might make it with a bit less sugar next time though, its a little bit on the sweet side tbh! I made rosehip syrup the other day and it did not turn out well at all - tis a nasty yellowish colour and does not taste of anything unless heated...what did I do wrong :huh:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

Seriouslyfrugal.
Another NSD for me.Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

I only seem to be able to make time to post at weekends,
But Well done for the certificate Seriouslyfrugal
and (((hugs))) to all those we need them this week.
Can't say it has been a cheap week:(, although did manage to get the car fixed, looked everywhere for a second hand fuel pump, and I mean everywhere:eek:, to no avail, but dh's boss was talking to him and said he would ring where he takes the works tractors, vans etc as they were injection specialists and the up shot was £120 to fix it:j, which we were very happy with.
Our local libraries have had very funny opening hours for the past couple of years, only the main one in the city centre has proper opening hours
I started keeping a spending diary at the beginning of the year, but my loyalty to it died quite quickly. I may have another go.
I have a conservatory full of onions and apples and various other fruit and veg, so need to get them, stored, cooked and frozen this week.
Well off to catch up with the diaries and finish my "sunday morning" coffee. My finances are work in progress.Normal veiwing will resume shortly0
