Hi saving. You "grump" away as much as you like! I suppose in a way it's a fine line between being flattered, when "friends" need you so much, and being used. It's just when someone asks me to do something, or listen to their woes, I just find it very very hard to say "no".
Well we all know someone from the "I've got" brigade, but I have a theory about that. I think they need to tell people what they have, because it spares them having to talk about what they don't have.
Everyone who knows me, knows that holidays are out of the question for us. DH can't cope with car/train/plane journeys any more, and I can't leave him and go with a friend, not even for a night, 5 or 6 hours being my limit. And yet Certain People push their fabulous cruises and exotic holidays down my throat, and they go on and on.
And then, they invariably add "are you going away this year?"   But though they may have these wonderful trips, they know that I know that their DH is a piece of manure - because they've told me this many times before!
C'est la vie!

I have a "friend" who likes to shout about exactly how rich she is and it really winds me up because it's all come from her in-laws. I totally respect and admire people who have worked hard and earned their money but if it's just given to you I feel it's cheating, or maybe I'm just jealous! The worst thing is she is the laziest lump ever!!! Rant over, but I understand where you're coming from, I don't see her much!Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

Ooo, meant to say book swap was good this morning, only found 2 books to take and came back with 2 more. The lady organising it did a talk about her daughters liver disease, although she's fine now there wasn't a dry eye in the room, very moving and interesting actually. And the cake was good!Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

The "avoid people club" lol.
The main people I avoid is men who moan about paying CSA well with DH and I both having kids that live with us and not getting a penny it annoys me soooooo much. I have been known to hide in shop doorways to avoid some people who fall into this category.
I am not that keen on school playgrounds either and have never liked the "my kid is better than yours" attitude and was so glad when the kids were old enough to walk home themselves. Now I have to pick DGD up thoughThings don't change.....bunch of women moaning about their hubbys etc
I don't mind what people have and I came across as a little harsh but this couple usually sit moaning about being in so much debt and then when they had the answer to get out of the mess they blew it IMO but it is up to them. I am not brimming with envy its just that I can not understand the logic. However I did like one of their chairs
Sandra I can't imagine how hard that is for you or your hubby.
DH and I have very little chance to get away because of all the childrens access/visits to the other parents and lack of funds. We were thinking of having a holiday at home weekend and we are a little stuck for ideas. Takeaway, a few good films, bed picnics, no housework........should have been top of the list :rotfl: phones off etc. We have two days shortly after xmas so trying to sort for thenI would say plenty of good luvin but mother nature usually spoils that
We have still not had a honeymoon
oh I just remembered a few (many) years ago a friend had been on a fabulous holiday and called round to see me when he got back. He brought a projector and thousand of slides and set it up in the house without even asking. The kid were so fed up they asked to go to bed :rotfl::rotfl: It would not have been so bad but he likes to fish and all the pics were the same, him holding different fish :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Have a good evening peeps

Good news on job front, school have just phoned me and asked if I would like to be a "bank" TA so I cover when others are on courses etc, they will have to offer it to other parent helpers and i will ahve to have a short interview but fingers crossed, I'm very happy :j
That's brilliant!:D It's also great for any jobs that come up in the future as you'd have some experience and they'd have "got to know you" etc.
Delight at pc being returned is ..... mixed.
Great to have it back but still some issues (first thing I did was a back up of all my files, just in case;)) - can't get online:( and, even worse ......
I've just tried to open the SoW and got a message reading something like "excel has encountered non text items, do you want to try to recover the spreadsheet" so, naturally, I said "yes" and ..... got another message ...... "the spreadsheet is corrupted and not recoverable":eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
OMG, I can't believe it - what am I going to do?
I did think about re-entering my receipts but I don't have them all / many things are bought online etc ..... I'm feeling a bit heartbroken at the minute - it's the first time I've ever managed to keep track of my spending for so long and really wanted to have it to compare to next year.
Sorry for the moan, I know it's nothing compared to what others are going through so feel really selfish mentioning it but just so disappointed as it was really helping control my spending:o

Oh no Rising, have you tried closing your computer down and opening it again, sometimes it will auto-recover? That is as much knowledge as I have I'm afraid but I'm sure someone else may be able to give you some more technical advice xMum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

Thanks natnat, no joy..... I think whatever was wrong with the pc must've damaged some of the files.:(
The only ones that open OK (so far) are pdf files that I've saved. Will need to have a "play" around tomorrow and see what I can salvage.
Sorry for the "moany" post everyone, not really like me but been a difficult day.
Think I'll head for a soak in the bath and an early night and .... tomorrow is another day:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
