  • Love it Cake4brains and actually I think the size is fine. I find it hard to see the detail on smaller pics. :-)

    Wow! I love this! Can I ask you how you do the lettering? Do you use cutters or freehand? And what have you used to cover the cake - sugarpaste or fondant? xx

    The stencils on that cake are the funky tappits and sugarpaste and fondant are the same thing

  • Hi,

    I had a birthday cake made for my 21st birthday on monday. It was made on sunday by a friend. It is a sponge cake with fondant icing. I was just wondering how long the cake will last. I have not cut into it yet as I am at university and want to take it home tomorrow for the weekend, but want to check that it shouldnt be dry before say saturday or sunday?

    Hope someone can help as I've seen all your amazing cakes!

    Love your user name :rotfl::T

    It really depends what ingredients have been used in the sponge, but I'll put my neck on the line, and say if you've not cut into it, it'll be fine for the weekend, but don't keep it much longer than that.

    Happy birthday :)

    I made this Club Penguin cake for my daughters 9th birthday on Tuesday. I'm really pleased with how it looked! Tasted great too and she was thrilled with it! All handmade and edible!
