    Hi,

Have been along time lurker on here and have been inspired by all the lovely cakes.

I am going to try and make some Penguins out of sugar paste to do the iceberg cake in the Asda book.

Does anyone know if i can colour the fondant myself or do i need to buy it ready coloured ? If i need to buy it does anyone have any recommendations of where to buy it from ?

    Thanks

Colour it yourself with squires paste colours. And if your using fondant you will need to add tylo powder.
    If it ain't reduced, i don't buy it! :j

    Hi

Just wondered if anyone has used either the Baking Mad or Good Food Vanilla cake recipes for their Giant Cupcakes? Or would anyone be willing to share their recipe with me? I'm struggling to find a good recipe, mine seem to be really dry and my daughter would like one for her birthday party this weekend.

    Thanks in advance.

I used the good food vanilla cupcake recipe for my giant cupcake. I multiplied the quantities by 3 (6 eggs) and it turned out really well. it was lovely and moist.

    hi all,

I recieved my giant cupcake silicone mould today, keen to give it a go I made up some cupcake mix (i made double the normal mix to fill one half, the same for the other half - the mould is xxxl!)...

however, it ended in disaster! i cooked it for around an hour - and it was still runny in the middle!!!! Eventually i gave up & binned the mix. Feeling rather gutted now.

Ive looked everywhere online for a good mix, cooking times & temperatures for this but cant find anything! If anyone can help i'd be very very grateful! x

Silicone bakeware is the Devil's work. Metal all the way for me. My silicone giant cupcake mould has gone in the bin, it didn't cook evenly, it was still raw in the middle after ages, burnt on the outside. And that's not because I'm a novice.

    Thanks for your help.

So do i have to add the powder to the fondant ? Can I just add food colouring and kneed it in ?

Hi there, fab cakes as usual. Does anyone have a yummy recipe for chocolate brownie please. I have tried loads now and none taste right - they either aren't chocolatey enough, too dry or have added ingrediants like cookies or wafer biscuits.

hi - ive been using this recipe, makes the perfect amount, is really simple and comes out great every time :)
