I attempted Gypsy Tarts for the first time the other day. Cheap to make and taste lovely.

I didn't think much of it when i tried it either.

I much prefer Cookie Girls (Xanthe Milton) vanilla cupcake recipe:

    110g unsalted butter
    110g caster sugar
    2 large eggs
    110g self raising flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp vanilla extract

if you're interested! Her Lemon Finger Cookies are lush too! There are loads of stuff in her book I can't wait to make!

Thanks to Nat, i've found my perfect sponge.

My first batch of the cupcakes i've always wanted to make:

    Hi,
The Teddy cutters were a bargain from ebay, £1.69 for a set of 3 little cutters

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350494142872?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 (not me selling them)

I just made the patch from a small piece of white icing and did the 'spots' by dipping a cocktail stick into food colourings.

  • Pack of 3 teddy bear cutters are also in my local Poundland. Have been there for a while. Look exactly the same as the PME one's but at a fraction of the price.

  • Hi, I was just wondering if any of u have tried to send cupcakes in the post. One of my friends is in afghan and I would love to send him and his friends some cupcakes in his Xmas hamper were doing. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what I would need to use. I'm sure I've seen someone somewhere do it but can't remember where from.

    Hi,

Have been along time lurker on here and have been inspired by all the lovely cakes.

I am going to try and make some Penguins out of sugar paste to do the iceberg cake in the Asda book.

Does anyone know if i can colour the fondant myself or do i need to buy it ready coloured ? If i need to buy it does anyone have any recommendations of where to buy it from ?

    Thanks
