    Brilliant makes and bakes!

Could anyone help with something I am looking for please? I am wanting to buy something but don't know the proper name of it lol, so haven't been able to find one. I thought perhaps maybe someone with more experience in cupcake decorating would know what I am on about lol - it's like a white plastic thing that you put a cupcake on to decorate it, but it has like a stem under it so you can turn it around in your hands with ease whilst not actually handling the cupcake. Don't know if I have explained that alright or not. If anyone could point me in the right direction of what I'm looking for that would be fab.

Or you can get one like this with a rim around the edge that you can set a cupcake into?

Made my grandaughter's favourite last night for her birthday today .........carrot cake. My first ever attempt at decorating a proper cake after my latest giant cupcake for Louie .......ditched the idea of using the grass nozzle and doing the top green, as need more practise with the grass nozzle as cheese frosting was too soft, probably mixed it for too long...... so ending up doing a basketweave design. Then we spent the full day being pampered at a spa

p4tti - thanks for the reply - yes that kind of thing only bigger for a cupcake

Toothfairy4 - thank you too - that's pretty much it, thank you.
  • Hello,

This is a photo of the giant cupcake I made for my Nan's 95th birthday yesterday.

    P1040110.jpg

It's the first time that I'd used my giant cupcake mould and I was pretty impressed with it, however, it didn't rise as much as I expected - I think that was because my baking powder was out of date.

I did use plenty of 'cake release' and it popped out of the moulds nicely.

I used chocolate fingers around the base and edible glitter to decorate.

I've signed up to an Adult Community Learning Cake Decorating course starting next month, so hopefully I'll have more cakes to show soon.

I have made my first real caupcake, and I must admit I was quite pleased, I watched a few youtube vids as I have never iced anything before :)
