Shegirl - I'm glad your delivery will be here today. I hope you are going to put a complaint in. They should refund you at least some of the extra you paid for next day delivery.
I bought a Kenwood about 6 months ago and I love it! Only went for a Prospero (think that's what it's called!) as it was much cheaper than a Chef. I get excited about new appliances as well. New tumble dryer last week - I was like a kid at christmas!
Nannyto9 - I work 12 hour nightshifts so I know how hard it can be fitting the baking in around that. I sometimes wish I could chuck the day job (well, night job!) and do my cakes all the time! I'm jealous of you going to the Harry Potter Tour. I bet it will be great! Have a lovely time! That's great that you got a couple of orders too! Well done!
All quitet on the cake front for me at the minute but next month I have:
- A 'Grandad' birthday cake for my sisters father inlaw
- 48 orange and blue cupcakes
- A 2 tier christening cake (for my little boy!)
These are all for the same day!!! Eek!
- Another birthday cake
- a 3 tier wedding cake (which I'm pooping my pants about!)
- and another dozen lilac/sparkly cupcakes for a 3rd birthday
Phew! It's going to be a busy May but I'm looking forward to all my new challenges!0 -
I agree Nat. Shegirl you must ring the retailer ( wait til you've got your order tho) and calmly explain -turn on your charm:)

Glad I'm not the only sad person who gets excited about kitchen appliances and in particular my Kenwood Prospero which I have had a couple of weeks now - also bought this one because of the price - would love a KitchenAid but a little out of my price range0 -

I love all the extras that come with it too! We managed to get rid of all our separate appliances so saved us some space too! That was how I sold the idea to my hubby0 -
Slightly off-topic but know the experts convene on this thread!
How is it that Rachel Khoo manages anything in her tiny Paris studio? It's smaller than my bedroom, yet she still manages to store loads of equipment, including mixers and madeleine trays in that microscopic space? There's almost no work surface!
Although I love cooking, I limit myself in my 8'x6' kitchen, cooking lots of dishes once a month max, and freeze them. Apart from time saving, this is mainly because the smell seems to permeate the whole house, depite using my extractor fan, closing the kitchen-diner off to the rest of my home, opening the windows and patio doors after cooking, and burning candles. Reheating food isn't such a problem, and I don't mind so much if it's the yummy homely smell of baking sweet treats, but I cooked broccoli in blackbean, chilil and garlic sauce from scratch on Friday evening. Par-cooking the veg in the microwave meant it was on the stove for all of 10 minutes (nothing was burnt), and depite keeping the windows open as much as possible this weekend my house still smelled of cooking when I left for work this morning.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I've got the same model Nat love it. I would have loved a bright red kitchenaid but couldn't justify the price! (hope the kenwood isn't listening ssshhhh)
Have you tried a cooks candle vfm4meplse? Think mine was from Lakeland but have seen them since on eBay.
Busy busy May for you Nat:)!somehow it's easier that way cos it forces organisation.
